  1. I jump on the computer whenever I walk by it to see if anybody posts any new pic's. I keep wonderin why there hasn't been many new bucks from the early Mexico hunts? Is it because most go down later in Jan.? I need to see some of those big Mexico coues you guys get, just to get a little more fired up for my hunt! THanks JIM.

There IS NO WAY I would pass up that deer on any hunt at any time. ALTHOUGH, it would be cool to see him in two maybe three years! GO kill em' Justin!!! JIM

    Returened From Mexico

I've worn out my "Coues deer is king" video. I feel like I personally know Wayne and his guides becuase of it. They look like they have a great outfit and have great success, I'm using a different outfitter but I think they have ties to one another, don't know though. Can't wait to see your pic's and story. Unit 21 Buck

Always seemed like too much country and not enough coues deer in unit 21!!! You killed a great buck and if I'm not mistaken, you got a big kitty on the same hunt!? Congratulations on what looks like a hunt you'll never forget! JIM

Do the nerves ever calm down???

Just like those guys said, if you stop getting that excited, then it's time to quit and thats awesome you are getting those opportunities to get that excited! My advice is to try and think about your shot, think about trying to hold your pin on a small spot on the deer. Concentrate hard and think about your form and then follow through with the release. By thinking more about these things and not about killing a coues might calm you down a bit. I didn't start killing big game with my bow until the first time I actually talked myself through the shot and focused on every step in order, rather than starting with the tag on the antler! JIM

    lion kill

I see lots of reference to lion kills. How are you determining if the carcass you find is indeed the result of a lion? Thx Russ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've found quite a few lion kills and usually notice the front half of the skull is broken or it will have tooth marks or holes in the nose area or back of the skull. If it is still fresh, they'll usually be covered up or stashed up under something. We found a small coues buck kill while chasing the cat with dogs, the fairly fresh deer was wedged extremely tight into a small hole in some rocks. I don't know how a person could have even accomplished that, all that was sticking out of the hole was the head and a couple of legs, the rest was in the hole! JIM

Hasn't there been hunts going on?

"The guy I talked to said the mid sized bucks (90" class) were all busted up but the bigger boys hadn't really started fighting yet." That gets me excited just hearing you call 90" class bucks MID SIZED!!! Those get my blood pumping here in the states!!! Thats why I saved up forever to hunt Mexico Can't wait! JIM

    Piggie success in 36B

I usually use the big vortex on pigs, the 2 blade 100 grain, it usually cuts them in half! But I used the G5 Tekkan 100 grain this time, did a great job, fly perfect in my set-up! JIM
  12. I keep tryin to rotate this pic but it aint workin', anyways this is one on the toyhauler! JIM
  13. I look everywhere I go, I was even in several different units on all the WT hunts last year and I still have yet to see another sticker. I have them on all my trailers and truck. This is a great site and I'm proud to promote it and I'm sure as more stickers get out there, they won't be as hard to find. JIM

    new world record

I heard the same rumor and a buddy had pic's of the buck. I went to see the pic's tonight and it's the same buck that is on the bowhunting discussion forum here on this site. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index...?showtopic=2508 It was killed near payson but I think was around 128" not 140" class?! I also heard there was a buck supposedly going to score 140" but after being killed on the late rifle hunt up near payson, it scored 120's" and was non-typical though. Rumors are crazy things! Who knows?! JIM

    How many archery shots?

I have only let a few arrows fly at coues deer. I even missed one at 18 yrds! His legs tucked up and his belly bounced off the ground as my arrow passed by where his lungs used to be! I have killed 4 mulies, spot n stalk, with a bow, and none has ever got me worked up as bad as having a coues deer within bow range! Don't get me wrong, I still get all wigged out on mulies, but I flat out lose it on coues. Yesterday I had a buck bedded in a spot that was fairly approachable, he was around 100" and huge! He had alot of does around him as well and I actually did not stalk him because I knew it wouldn't work! Because I knew I would fall apart on a buck like that, I didn't even try I need to get one under my belt before I can start having any kind of composure on these little deer, I think JIM

Help with elk draw for NM

Hey megahunter, whats your plans with those tags? do you guide there? do you sell to outfitters? I am looking to buy 10 to 15 bull tags for 16a archery, rifle, whatever! Have 1 ranch that possibly will sell all to me plus use of ranch facilities but don't know yet. My dad has the outfitter license but we still have crappy success getting clients drawn, only 2 out of 18 last year. Just curious, JIM

Take your dog and shoot it

I believe it was wrong for that guy to do what he did. If your going to kill it, KILL IT! Especially so some bleeding heart doesn't have to see it and make a big deal about it. I don't trust pit bulls at all, my buddy has two and says they are just teddybears! MY butt, they scare the heck out of me. You can't trust em. It's like a loaded gun that you never know when it'll go off, and who will be in the way when it does! JIM
