Just wondering if anyone on the site has tried any of the double spotting scope mounting brackets in =stead of the kowa big eyes?. I am in the market and want to mount 2 sts 80 swarovski spotting scopes together and am just having a hard time finding any of the mounting brackets. All the places i call say they are not making them? Anyone have any experience with them, also any idea where to get one.
-
Yeah I seriously thought about the highlanders. However I have heard the double Swarovski spotters are better. I would gave pulled the trigger on the kowas however I hate the angled eye piece. No one has used these type of brackets?
-
That is a pretty nice set up but I am actually looking for the bracket that you could mount two spotting scopes together so you can glass out of them like binos

I glassed this pig up opening day of may left over hunt this year. Made a 1.5 mile stock on him and shot him in his bed perched on some rocks overlooking three bedded coues does. I shot him at 649 yards with a 300 weatherby mag pushing 165gr nosler ballistic tips around 3450fps. He didnt make it out of his bed. After the kill i enjoyed some of his backstrap on site "delicious" Side note, i glassed for 7 days and didnt see a single buck over 100" in the area i was hunting which in the past has produced several 105+ bucks. I did however see 4 different lions guess that explains the lack of quality age class bucks. Thanks for looking Josh Weeks

Left over tag and a deer killer down
elkman replied to elkman's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
kidso i have called for varmits and bears for twenty plus years. I have only called in one lion, however i didnt see the lion until i stood up so it spooked away. They are tough to call in. I have glassed them up and then set up and called for a hour and had no response except them walking off. Its very hit or miss with them in my experience. -

For those who hunt whitetail and have never glassed up a lion. The way i see lions on a regular basis while hunting is to glass periodically for them in the spots that you usually see lions "rocks and cliffs" Mid morning when i am not seeing deer anymore i switch my focus to lions. I glass for them the same way i look for whitetail but just in the rocks and nasty cliff areas. Just my method but it works for me. I have killed 8 lions spot and stock all during whitetail hunts. Actually two of them i was out glassing specifically for cats. Good luck to all the archery hunters couple more weeks>>> Happy Thanksgiving. Joish -

Back straps hit the spot and were good an tender. Needed salt of course. The cat proably weighed 100lbs my guess. Going to head back in there after the first to kill another. Gotta thin those suckers out. Eating all my good bucks. -
