  1. post-754-0-61245100-1442121700_thumb.jpg

This was sent to me via message, not sure why, I'm guessing because I had posted on this thread. I have a feeling lots of people got the same message.

I don't mind the fact there are some Gov tags, but I will admit I hope they NEVER increase the number that are auctioned off. Different strokes for different folks is fine by me. But I must say, the longer this thread goes, the more I feel like vomiting for sooooo many reasons.

Happy Hunting to everyone..... The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

  2. That bad review doesn't surprise me a bit. Anyone who would do this couldn't possibly be a stand up a guy. I found something online that claimed he has been guiding elk hunts for over 20 years! So..... You mean to tell me in twenty plus years of guiding elk he doesn't have enough good bulls to fill one honest page in his brochure.....

    WOW that says A LOT!

  3. My friend Harvey and I were more shocked than anything else. Proud or flattered doesn't come to mind, disgusted that someone would do that for personal gain more like. I've heard stories about this crap. Makes you wonder how lousy of an outfitter he might be to feel the need to do that. And is our pic the only one on there that he has absolutely nothing to do with. Like I said, we have no idea who this guy is.

  4. My goody buddy Harvey has a late archery Unit 9 tag. He received a brochure from Joseph Lorenz about his upcoming hunt, the only problem Is our picture of us with our bulls from 2004 are on this guys brochure. It was a DIY hunt and we have no idea who this dishonest guy is.

This is our picture just a different angle than the picture he swiped and used for his gain.

  5. I wasn't referring to the people that were unimpressed w "bought trophies" as low class. It was the photoshopped picture that replaced A3 with USO on his hat that I thought was pretty low budget. I'm a DIY guy. If I won the raffle tag, (can't afford the auction tags like the rest of us) you can bet your bottom dollar it would still be DIY and I'd get a good buck on the ground.

As far as the chest pounding, I have no knowledge of that. I racked up those pics as good advertisement in my book.

I wouldn't sell info on big deer PERIOD, but I'm not trying to make a living at hunting.

  6. Cwt has become so low class. IMO if you can be successful as an outfitter, you must live in the outdoors and be a heck of a businessman. I would a venture a guess 4 out of 5 or 9 out of 10 are broke butt doing it for a labor of love.

Successful pics is just free market advertising, which I would venture a guess they need ALL THEY CAN GET.

A3 is killin it, kudos to one of the best outfitters in the state which is an easy argument to make based on a lot of "watermarks" over the last few years.

  7. We didn't have any long legs, certainly not any numbers for sure. But we definitely got the same red bumps, you described them to a tee. There were plenty of smaller spiders around but I don't think they are spider bites. I'm still leaning towards walking through tall wet grass. This was a day trip when we all got these bites.

  8. Whatever they are, we have/had the same thing. My wife got the worst of it and 3 weeks later she is still dealing with them. My hunting partner's bumps went away the quickest and I was right in the middle. I think mine are all gone now. I'll be curious as to what people say. I thought chiggers, but honestly we don't know. Colleen has about 20 bites, most in the torso area. We were walking throught a lot of tall wet grass for hours during a monsoon rain. It was a rough day, complete with long lasting reminder!

  9. Nelson and I had not seen this buck hard horned before. We spent plenty of time in the area and there were a few sheds found, but nothing great. I usually don't hunt opening weekend to give them time to grow, but I easily made the exception for Toad. He blew up in the two weeks prior beyond wildest dreams. I wish we had history with this buck, but we do not.

  10. Don't forget the rattlesnakes, we saw more on this hunt than any other. Boy o boy, does Nelson HATE rattlesnakes! He wants em dead and I'm pretty fond of the nasty little buggers! Bears, snakes, chiggers, skeeters! The struggle was real.....

With these great rains and lots of info from the past few yrs, I'm guessing it'll be a stellar yr for Team Coues Killers.

I still can't believe this buck got ground checked, definitely a cloud 9 deal.
