This subject has a lot of ups and downs twists and turns etc. but for me the bottom line is they aren't even wolves they are hybrids. They caught a lot of the original breeding stock from Old Mexico and they were all interbred with ranch dogs. They don't belong here any more than your neighbor's German shepherd.

That was a great show last night I was row G almost center. I got some good pictures and even some video. Never been to the Ikeda theatre before last night it was a great venue would definitely go again. Lyle Lovett is coming there in August, I think I might have to check that out. Hope everyone who went had as good a time as me.

To the top with price reduction, also live in Gilbert don't really want to ship these items face to face cash only. Can meet in east valley or border of phoenix/scottsdale area. Thanks, Ben

Wonder if she thought it was a baby zebra, or maybe there was a blown call recently and she hates refs.

Best Mexican Restaurant-they didn't do their research!

Nobody has mentioned El Charro in Mesa. The service is slow, the ambiance is old, drab and dark, and they close for like a month in the summer, but they are pretty good. Beans and salsa are good as well as the green chile. They make a cheese crisp with green chile in it that is awesome. The butter on the chips in globe is not my thing but that place has good chile colorado(red). I like burger house to because it's almost as cheap and fast as taco bell but a million times better. -
Same thing happened at my house about this time last year except it was a mourning dove. Gotta love those predators. And the last pic is pretty cool too!

That's pretty cool. I've done a few with brass pins I cut from brass rod you can get at Home Depot or Ace. Also some of those websites have pins made of multiple materials like brass and copper and when you cut them the cross section has a pattern like a star or flower. Pretty neat stuff out there. Here are some examples. http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/125637977/Mosaic_Pins_for_Knife_Handles_8mm.html

I think the lion density in the 36's is the highest in the state or at least the highest in the areas that I hunt in. Definetly bring a tag if your headed that way.

To start off I do not hunt over bait and I do hunt in 23 and though I am not that old I have seen changes in the WT population in that unit over the last 10 years. The fact is Az and the world is in constant flux and changing. One of those changes for us here in AZ is that the madrean(think No. Mex.) ecosystem is moving north and so is the Rocky mountain ecosystem(out of state). Species like the Coati Mundi, Collared Peccary and Coues WT have all expanded their range in the last century along with all kinds of other critters and plants. I grew up spending every summer in the north half of 5A. We never saw WT or Javelina. Now we see them quite often up there. It took a while for coatis to get there, but they are now on top of the rim as well(second hand info from a WM). This is global warming or a natural progression of ecotypes or what ever else you want to believe, but it is happening. This could explain the increase in harvest of WT in the northern units, there are just more deer. Also it goes without saying that the technology is also helping out. G&F uses bunk science. Mandatory harvest reports would put an end to the bunk science. Also someone mentioned the heritage fund and the new look dept. I truly believe there is an internal struggle right now between the old guard(WM's that hunt and grew up in the hunting community) and the new highly educated and opinionated faction of liberal leaning personnel. When TR was there it might have been more about the hunter but that is changing, along with the general public opinion of hunting and hunters. What their biggest dilemma now is how can they keep us from doing the things we love and enjoy(hunting) and still take our money to use in projects that save non game animals with no economic value from habitat loss etc.

Does anyone know why the fire near Young is not on the inciweb web site? Maybe 'cause it started on the FAIR?

Did you happen to see this guy in the northwest part of the unit. Near the res. line in one of the canyons coming off Babo. I saw the biggest coati I've ever seen there and he was a huge all blonde male w/ no dark markings at all. Wanted him bad but hunting partner said no go as he had the dec tag and didn't want the canyon blown out.

Fairly certain Dave is ammending his description - but in case you are interested in the Honda, I just took time off work and drove 70 miles roundtrip to see a honda trail 90 in AVERAGE, not excellent condition. Pictures dont show fender dents and rust on dents, nor do they show hole in the seat. It is also NOT RUNNING... which can happen, but he knew I was coming and could have told me he had been unable to start it - as I have seem them not want to run due to stale fuel issues. Did not amend this description at all and actually upped the price because we had so much interest in it. SOLD for $1000. GOD IS GOOD ISN'T SHE. Oh and PS the guy who bought it thought it was in excellent condition. To each their own.

I have seen them in 5A as far north as the p/j flat just south of East/West Sunset Mtn. But the strangest place was on the T.O. Res On the flats North of the Quijotoa Mtns. That's about 30 miles from Babo, Roskruge, Silver Bells.

I've gotten a few pm's about these, they are my stepdad's so any inquiries should be directed to the phone number on the top post.

True story: saw a huge bull w/ a tag in the back of a white four door chevy pickup on elliot near my house on sun. did not see the plate, did not see stickers because I was droolin' over the rack and had not read this post yet. Fact: I have seen a white 4 door chevy in my neighborhood and on 60 a few times with the plate dbllung, noticed it because it's one of the wildlife plates and we have a dbllung on this site and i remember wondering if this was him. The above are facts you all can read into them as much or as little as you like. And no I won't eat crow no matter what happens becuase both the above are fact. I have made no conclusions here, but rip me if you must. Now here comes the opinion: I personally do not believe that both sides of this story will ever be told, at least not on the www. I would love to eat crow on that though.

I'm getting ancy looking at all these amazing goats. If you had 12 points going in to next years draw what unit would you put in for and what weapon? Muzzy is not an option for me but archery is. I was leaning toward archery 5's or 6's. Any opinions welcomed. By the way I have only ever bought points, next year will be the first time I actually apply for a tag.

Dont give up and don't sell your bow. I don't know you but the circumstances sound vaguely familiar, you will regret it. Or like me you'll end up with a better bow and a bigger bill than if I had just kept it, but a bow is a bow. I sent you a PM about possible locations.

Haven't read Silent Spring, so which generation exactly does Ms. Carson claim is the most polluting. Spare me the read??? I remember reading about Jane Fonda taking a shower with a water saver and a 5 gallon bucket in there to catch the extra to flush the toilet with. We used to use the water from the washing machine(Gray water) to water our garden but that is too toxic for the environment so they shut that down. One more green for ya, go check out the 500,000 acre black spot up on the mountain, a direct result of people trying to save the planet from our polluting ways......and don't forget, everybodys poop goes somewhere She didn't claim that, as she wrote the book in the late 50's early 60's. I claim it, but I should have been clear. The comment about growing nations such as China polluting more than us is true. They are doing what we did before all the laws regulating this kind of behavior were enacted. I'm not trying to come off as a tree hugger. It's just the way you wrote that up made it sound like you guys were the original conservationists, and everything was so green back then, but I will say that the original concept of recycling comes from hard working people that know the value of a dollar and the goods that can be bought with it. But this was out of necessity, not from any inherrent notion of environmentalism. Don't want to pick any fights, but this post seemed a little misguided. Guess we all have our own perception. Oh ya and the comment "spare me the read" you ought to read it. It is in it's umpteenth printing and celebrates it's 50 yr anny this year. Do you like bald eaagles, or prerigrine falcons, stream side habitat and all of the animals that go with it? I do, and I'm glad she wrote the book, becuase it wasn't just the future of these species she helped, most importantly it was us. We were literally poisoning ourselves to death post WW2 and studies and books like hers brought a voice to this. The downside is these studies would eventually lead to the rise in envirowackos that we have today. Respect all your guys opinion thats why I like this site, can have a discourse without it resulting in personal attacks. I feel a little more educated about your generations view point and I hope you came away with the same.

This is laughable. So because you guys didn't have tech. you guys were green right? Ever read a book called "Silent Spring" by Rachel Carson? The most polluting generation our planet has ever seen, EVER! With that said, do my generation, or the kids growing up now do their part or as much as they should? No. But do we all, across all social, ethnic, gender, and age gaps do what we need to be doing to save our planet. heck no. It sounds like the clerk was out of line but you seem to have a very selective memory.

TTT Thought I'd bring this back to the top. Let me preface this by saying I'll try to keep this as positive as possible. I'll also preface this by saying THIS IS NOT A JEALOUSY POST, like so many have claimed on other threads that went sour. I have a bow and an archery tag and time, money, desire, etc. to go bow hunting. But would I go out right now? HECK NO! Look at the bucks these guys have been shooting. Again no offense to anyone who harvested something or just went out this week(remember G$F sets these rules so ethical=legal as Lark would say). What you guys did was both ethical and legal. Maybe someone can enlighten me. I know it's not all about the antlers or the trophy for many of us, but what in the heck are you gonna do with one of those velvet bucks with all the blood balled up in the tips. Again any AZ buck with a bow is a true trophy and I am happy that people got to go out and enjoy life as a hunter in the woods this week, but I think that G$F should move the archery hunt later into the season.

WOW! Baby Quail this late?
BigMoqui replied to quailchaser's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
On opening day in 2007 or 2008 (this is when opening day was like the 10th of oct. or somewhere thereabouts) I was hunting near Oracle and my dog flushed a single bird on the way back to the truck. I thought it was from a covey we broke up early that morning on the way in. As it rose I shot and had my seventh bird and was feeling pretty good about myself until I rounded the other side of the bush that she flushed from and saw about ten almost featherless chicks start running from the dog into the brush. They had pin feathers on the wings and a few feathers on the rest of there body and were about 2-3" tall. I'm pretty sure they didn't survive. So when G$F decided to move the season up recently I was opposed, but it was one of their opportunity deals. We had good weather that year and I think that was a double clutch, but don't know for sure.
