Things your huntin buddies do that drive you nuts : )
ready2hunt replied to twigsnapper's topic in The Campfire
When any one claims that a spot is "theirs". That probably bugs me more that most things. We all share the forest and the only time I consider a spot "owned" by someone is when they have paid for the land and have the rights to it. I heard this from a few people over the weekend during a hunt (it was not directed at me) and think it's petty. If you want the trophy shoot it first...it's that simple -
Probably becuase they are rubbing their antlers against burnt trees. Saw some last year that were black as night for that very reason.

What a great animal! Congrats and thanks for sharing that with us. How far away was he when you shot him?

I've seen these flash mobs on TV.....we should find out what show he is at and then overwhelm his booth haha. We wouldn't be in the wrong and Jim can get his antlers back

Sounds like you would have a good shop. Tough competition but if you can branch out and market yourself well I see no reason why you can't be successful longterm. Good advice from others...you'll need other income but if you can dream it and make it work then more power to you! If its close the the east valley I would go there to shoot. Walt Disney made an entertainment giant out of a mouse! Took him his whole life but he did it!

Very nice Bear.....hope he ends up with your tag on him! thanks for posting!

I have never hunted Unit 23 however judging by what everyone is saying I should seriously consider it. Good luck on the hunt, can't wait to see some pictures of the success!

Glad I am not the only one! To be honest I think our dads got it figured out....as kids we would not sleep all night and then just sleep all day which shut us up. Looking back on it they probably planned that to have a quiet hunt. -

I got a hunting partner that snores so loud its ridiculous and keeps me from sleeping. We have hunted a lot together and no matter how far away from him I try to sleep he just wont shut up! Finally after quite a few years I invested in some ear plugs so I wouldn't smother him in his sleep with his pillow. Besides...I would feel guilty suffocating my own dad Thanks old man for all the good hunts. Guess I am one of the lucky ones too...not to much to complain about. On the flip side I don't hunt with people who are very inexperienced when I am looking to tag out. If I am with someone that is not very experienced then I try to be patient....can't expect much from someone who doesnt know much. My own father would have shot me & my brother years ago if he had got upset for messing up his hunts haha -
Been there! Way to keep a great attitude about the situation. it's always tough to experience that especially when supporting others.. Good luck to you and hope you find something that fits your needs in a timely manner!

I went to that LA fitness and loved the facility but could not afford to keep the membership though. I was doing that "Insanity Workout" for awhile at home. That is one crazy workout! Worth every penny haha

I am not hi-jacking the thread but I have had to work on weightloss myself and thought I would share the below. If any of you are interested my father in law owns a company called "Divine Nature." http://divinenature.com/ Basically what he does is he takes your blood and from your blood can tell you what your body is deficient in and what it needs. He can tell if you're having kronic head aches, what type of food you eat, digestive habbits etc. It is really amazing stuff and I was pretty skeptical until I married my wife and he took my blood. I had all sorts or issues with weight loss/gain including digestive issues and he has 100% helped me. Although I am pluggin' his company I don't get anything from it I promise. He works with doctors, NFL, NBA, the PGA as well as many celebrities. (he has pictures with many of them on his office wall) he also does a lot of work internationally. He doesnt bother advertising becuase all his business is by word of mouth in the medical feild. It's really amazing stuff, look at the website. No gimmicks or sales stuff but I would encourage anyone with any injury, recovering or who are just looking to lose weight to check it out. The funny thing is that many of those who reach out to him are sports/weightlifting trainers who want to private label through him. If you want more info shoot me a PM or you can even youtube some of his stuff.

Early bow hunt for turkey: what's a good unit
ready2hunt replied to Airbusdriver's topic in The Campfire
+1 to unit 1 & 27....find a water hole with a lot of tracks and then circle the area...you can't go wrong. They are everywhere -
HAHA sounds good. I'll PM you, its all free game until there is a tag on them!

Just got back from a week long camping trip in unit 1. Saw many many elk and a few real trophy bulls. It is raining up there every day right now and the bugs are terrible so don't forget the bug nets/repellant. Saw some big bucks as well so the archery hunt should not disappoint. Also saw 3-4 different people scounting the same feilds over and over again with spotting scopes (they need to find a new spot haha). There is also a huge logging project taking place in some areas so be aware...if you have not scouted and are planning on hunting in those areas you are not going to find very many animals. There also seems to be MANY more cattle in some areas....the ranchers I am assuming are using this area more since the wallow fire burnt out a lot of land. Just giving some helpful info. Good luck to you all and hope to see pictures of your success!
