I just ordered a pair of strings (BCY-X) from 60X for my PSE decree, the factory ABB set on it is starting to look a bit ragged. Will see how I like them in a few days.

+1. Upgraded from a Bushnell Scout "1000" ARC DX that never gave me a reading past 350 yards and the difference is night and day. Best value for the money rangefinder out there IMO. Glass is pretty good, too. Slight blueish tint but it gathers light well and is very clear. I consistently get readings to 1200-1500 yards on hillsides throughout the day and have gotten readings out to 2250 yards on really nice, reflective targets.

I have the early November rifle tag for unit 32, an area we've been going to for some time now without a lot of success. Last year, I hunted an area we had seen a nice buck in a few years back, and spent some more time scouting it. There is a water source and some good canyons for shelter nearby. I only spent two days in this area last season, but on the last day I could hunt I went one ridge over and spooked a nice buck (3x3 or so) but couldn't seal the deal. Long story short I've been super busy this year and not having a high clearance vehicle limits the country you can scout. I was finally able to set up my trail camera by the water three weeks ago and pulled the card today. I was hoping for some pictures of nice bucks that might tell me I needed to hunt there this year, but the results were inconclusive. Besides deer, I captured two mountain lions (including a big, mature tom), a bunch of javelina, and one coutamundi chasing after one of the two mountain lions. For deer, over a three week period I captured probably 7-10 different deer encounters. The majority were does, some had young ones, but I was able to make out two bucks, one that is a small spike and one that's a little forkhorn (I think). Anyways my question is this. I'm hoping to get my first coues on this hunt after years of trying now that I'm set up a bit better and have a little experience under my belt. The spring I put the camera on is a bit low in elevation for what most people consider typical coues country, maybe the reason why I have never seen any signs of other humans down there (seriously, no trash, not even a footprint). I'm not picky when it comes to what I will shoot, as long as its legal. Unfortunately I've been so swamped I just havent been able to put the time in scouting. In my head, I think I should focus my time near the spring, considering I had a run in with a good, mature buck close to that area last year. I also glassed up (without having a tripod at that time) quite a few does around the spring. My head tells me hunt the spring, but my heart says you haven't gotten any proof that there are anything but a few small bucks around, after all there's no guarantee that buck from last year is still in the area or even alive. I find it a little disconcerting I didn't get any more pictures of bucks coming in to water considering the lack of moisture and temperatures lately. However, I'm no expert at setting up or using a trail camera, and its very possible I just didn't capture all the deer that came it. Its also true that I was only able to have the cam up for three weeks, not exactly a huge sample size. So I'm open to advice. From what I've observed of the spring, would it make sense to stick to that area? Obviously if the does are around, there are bucks somewhere. Or during the hunt (we'll have the family jeep then), should I consider moving up in elevation to more typical coues habitat (areas we have also seen deer) and testing my luck there, where the population density may be higher? I feel like the spring should be a great area, despite not having a ton of proof. I just want to use what little time I have t0 hunt wisely. Advice and opinions welcome.

From the 2016-2017 regs: A parent, grandparent or legal guardian may allow the parent’s, grandparent’s or guardian’s minor child or minor grandchild to use the parent’s, grandparent’s or guardian’s big game permit or tag to take big game pursuant to the following requirements: • The parent, grandparent or guardian must transfer the permit or tag to the child in a manner prescribed by the commission. • The parent or guardian must accompany the child in the field or, if a grandparent allows a minor grandchild to use the grandparent’s permit or tag, the grandparent, the parent or the child’s guardian must accompany the child in the field. • The child must possess a valid hunting license and, if under fourteen years of age, must satisfactorily complete the Arizona hunter education course or another comparable hunter education course that is approved by the director. • Any big game that is taken counts toward the child’s bag limit. Once a tag is transferred at a Department office, the original permittee may no longer use it.

Very possible on both counts.

Cliffs: Hunt the area where I know there is a water source and deer, but don't know if there are any mature bucks, or go looking for greener pastures at a higher elevation where there may be more deer?

I'm more interested in where that fish pic was taken. What a dandy! Not to sidetrack but the San Juan River New Mexico. One of my better browns! Honestly stumped about where the OP is, but someone had some carving skills and a sense of humor.

Hello all, In preparation for my unit 32 Coues hunt first week of November, I want to be sure I have a good tripod and head to put my 15x56 vultures on. I'm not new to hunting, but this is the first year I can afford a decent glassing setup to help me find that elusive grey ghost. I know this topic has been posted about before, and ive looked at those closely, but available tripods and heads are always changing. So, my question is this. I have a budget somewhere around $300 for the tripod, I'd like to stay under $150 for the head (those Outdoorsman's heads look sweet, maybe next year, just can't justify $300 for one right now). I don't anticipate doing a lot of standing while glassing, but if the tripod in question has the height to do it that's an added bonus (I'm 6'0"). I would like something that is fairly lightweight, and very steady. What do you all recommend? I'm certainly considering the promaster sold here, also the Slik 634 CF. As far as heads go, it seems like most are pushing 2 lbs and I'd like something lighter, that is still smooth and sturdy. Too much to ask in my price range? As far as heads go, the Manfrotto 700rc2 looks promising. Thoughts on these and other products?

Wow, can't believe nobody has snapped this up yet. The accessories alone are worth the asking price of the package. If it were a 29.5" draw it would be mine, and I don't need a second bow. Someone buy this!

Yeesh. Don't know how people get their hunting rigs so light. My 30-06 is about 9.5 with scope and bipod. My 25-06 has a heavier Vortex Viper HS and should be around 9.5 lbs with scope and bipod as well.

My wild guess? 105-110". Great tine length, average mass sans velvet, inside spread isn't great. Fantastic buck and as Allforelk said quite tasty. I'd be pulling the trigger if he walked by no matter the tag. Don't quote me on it though, just guessing for fun.

Nice cats. If you're interested to know, that bluegill is a hybrid with green sunfish. Note the green markings on his cheek and the white border on his fins. It also explains the size of his mouth.

This. It's not like he could have done a much worse job. If it weren't for the lack of a potential holding call against the Panthers as the Cardinals were trying to convert on one third down, which resulted in a subsequent possession and touchdown by the panthers, and immediately after a fumble on the return by the cardinals (leading to another panther touchdown), the game might have played out differently. Of course the cards were terrible on offense consistently, and proved to be their own worst enemy in many ways. Alas, I must now say GO PACK!!!

Drew my second choice hunt 3054 22 North mid october rifle cow elk.

I live 15 minutes from the reservoir- it was dry last time I was out there. (been about a week) Had a good duck season last year though, hoping they'll add some water and make it good this year.
