I have also taken gobblers on the first week of the second hunt. A friend of mine took one on the last day of the second season two years ago, and it was gobbling. I do notice that the gobbling does calm down the later in the season you go.

This Thursday at 11am is my guess.

Congrats on the double. We had unit 22 also with no luck.

I heard (don't know if it is true or not) that in unit 21 there is a disease spreading thru the javelina and killing them off. Maybe there is a possibility that the pigs in 18b are spreading a disease also. Don't know, but could be a possibility.

I got mine during the HAM. Followed a few herds around. I actully saw more this year then the past few years. azspike, congrats on getting a pig during the ham hunt. We hunted 2 days in 22, and only heard one shot. It was our first year in the unit, so we were learning the unit as we hunted. Anyone else hunt unit 22?
