Yes it's annoying.  Id be fine with it if they made it illegal. But all those extra people will push the animals out to other areas. Or worse case scenario the harvest limit will be met, or tags filled.  The sky is not falling.

Be careful how much you agree with this Dave character though. I am absolutely certain he's a freakin idiot.

Ok.  Act like Dave didn't start the topic. Did you change your mind a little yet? I do agree with some of his thoughts but he doesn't know when to stop and says some stupid things.

  2. Back on topic, how do you guys not see the harm that this is going to cause to hunting? Just think when other guys start doing the same thing. Maybe I'm not seeing it??? I don't think so. I've just always preferred a secrecy to what's out there. If people had to beat up their truck instead of using a camera they would be more tight lipped about what they saw out there. I think that's a matter of time before it starts to affect hunters and that's when minds will change.

I ave you a sympathy like on this post if it helps your self esteem

Yeah I wasn't getting any likes on my posts so I was wondering what was going on. I guess not many liked my opinion. I'm not used to using these emoji things. It's all new to me on this site. Thanks for doing that, now I know it works. lol. If you post a lot on here eventually the day that you look like an idiot is coming.

Agree!  Signs are needed however blocking the roads could have an adverse affect on fire crews responding to a fire. Generally first responders are in a pickup or small engine and trenches or boulders would slow the response down considerably.

Hey I'm not arguing with you, and I agree with you. I could actually really care less if they didn't shut any roads down. Quite a few people are determined to so maybe on the areas with an over abundance of roads, they could use the signs, seeds, and trenches.  Hunters also like their areas to walk free from roads, so you got to see it both ways. I get it when you're walking, and have a vehicle come up and ruin your walk. It's happened to me and I don't like that either. I think a balance of both would be best.  They're going to do what they're going to do, so we will see.

I think cell phones in the woods should be outlawed. It is against fair chase as you can call your buddy and say "Hey here is a great deer if you come in this way you can get him.". That or you can Google Earth to find the best way to stalk a deer. It gives you a true satellite image of where you are and the deer is in real time.

Those aren't good examples of technology ruining hunting. If you don't see it than I can't help you.

Dave, i get what your saying about selling pre detailed maps..it sucks but oh well..Remember what it was like to discover and hunt your spots before it was published. Now you have a new goal, where did the game go? Sometimes its not about the kill but about the discovery and experiences that make a hunt.

    Regards

There is no discovery and experience with people throwing out information everywhere. I wouldn't doubt that Dave scouted the spot himself which is a discovery and experience. It's like you go scout a buck which is normal. Don't worry a thousand others just spent twenty bucks, and have all of the pictures of that buck, and where it lives.  Also they will be hunting that buck too. It's like why scout if hunters are going to be thrown on every buck with just twenty bucks or so. It blows my mind that people don't see a problem with this.

Thanks for sharing, I head down on Friday and I cant wait. It will be my first time seeing the Kaibab. Has anyone had any success on the archery hunt yet this year?

There's a nice archery buck from the Kaibab that was just posted on monstermuleys.com

I don’t read this as preventing someone for selling “spots” to hunt from. I read the intent as preventing someone from selling the location of a specific animal.

in AZ these commissioner tag holders often pay several $ “finders fee” to someone who provides the location of a big buck or bull.

I think you would be hard pressed to keep someone from selling starting points like you have posted. And to be honest, why anyone would be willing to pay for such info is beyond me. My worst hunting fear is ending up in a place that is posted online, so why the heck would I pay for that experience.

From Flatlander from this quoted post above that was previously posted. The draft bill from Wyoming includes language that reads, "no person shall provide to a hunter for remuneration the location information of any previously scouted big or trophy game animal for the purpose of aiding the hunter in the taking of the big or trophy game animal,"

Now read the response about the language of the bill in the quote in white above.

But if you go to his website his scouting packages state how many days that he spends in the field for your particular scouting package that you are purchasing. He provides pictures of the animals and so on. That would mean that if the person were to purchase that particular package and end up harvesting that animal that was scouted it would be illegal by this wording in the statement above.

  12. I just got done saying what I thought of trail cams, but I've used them. I just thought that this forum would want some pictures to look at since the success photos are slow.  These buck pictures were all taken in the summer of 2014 on the Kaibab.

  13. I scouted for deer this year for over 75 hours in a pretty good number of units in the Flag area. I scout in prime time and cover a lot of ground.  I have done it all of my life. Out of all of the years, this year was the toughest to find bucks.

I hate to even comment becaue I have no real opinion about cameras, I could take them or leave them........but, There’s a diferance between your average joe with 2 or 3 vs your standard guild with 60.( not a made up number, that from the horses mouth, and just in one area.)
