It depends on the unit, phase of rut, public/private, etc. But in general, no need to wise up elk anymore than they are. Bulls move so much during the rut, thats its better to scout where the cows will be anyway.

I have the hornhunter full curl and a 2200. I use the full curl for backpacking and its a good pack for that, but I still use the 2200 95% of the time for day hunts. For what you are looking for, I would go with the 2200. FWIW - before I got the full curl, I did a 6 day backpacking trip with the 2200.... and while it was tight to get everything I needed, it worked fine. Have packed out elk quarters with it too.

On the first.... obviously very little to go off of.... but I think that's a younger bull. Fronts are already starting to curve up in that picture, and they aren't all that long. I doubt that bull will hit the 300 mark when its all said and done.

They didn't re-run the draw... they ran the first and only draw, but didn't assign tags to NR in some units.... So they had to go back and re-assign tags to NR in some cases. The draw was never re-ran.

I had the same issues yesterday, but it was fine today. No confirmation emails.

In all seriousness, call all of them and talk to them about what YOUR expectations are for the hunt. Its your hunt, not theirs. After you talk to them all, you should get a good feel for who you will mesh with the best. Part of a tag like this is the experience, dont overlook that aspect.

Sounds like whoever you pick knows 27 better than anyone else, so you are in good hands.
