What rifle scope do you use?
Shedhunteraz replied to rhineheimer's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Have a 270 rem running swaro Z5, and have two Remington sendero's and running Swaro Z6's on both of them. Its amazing what good glass will do for you. -
Our young lab found his first shed, happened to be attached to a full bull. Archery Kill from this year and we have the broad head. Please anyone that knows of anyone who lost a bull in 23n pm us so we can get this back to the hunter. Thanks

Anyone else eating tag soup??
Shedhunteraz replied to ready2hunt's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
We had about the same luck there. Took two of my guys who work for us out that had two tags and notta. 6 days and roughly 80 miles on our boots and 850 on the ranger in 6 days and nothing. Had a nice 3x on opening day, took the shot at 750 but he missed. We hit my honey holes east and north and went into hellsgate for a day and ran down south. And nothing. 4 does in 6 days also. Then the weather changed monday and the wind just killed everything.I think I saw more freaking mule deer than ever. All I can say it was about the hardest hunt I ever been on. But always fun being in gods country. -
Get in the deepest nastiest stuff you can find and glass and glass and glass. They are in there. The farther you get off of roads and away from people the better chance you will have. Hiked in miles to get mine last year.

TIM you have got to be kidding me!! You stayed home to carve pumpkins instead of helping me find these dang coues for my two guys? LOL. We seriously need to talk. Lets hope you take this elk hunt coming up alittle more serious.

Who's ready for Friday Oct. 25th?
Shedhunteraz replied to flatline's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Heading back up to cabin, got 2 buddys with two coues tags. Then wife is taking father out next Friday for his muley hunt. Week break then my archery hunt , then another buddys rifle bull hunt, then sons first rifle bull hunt. Should be a good next two months. Six tags in eight weeks were hoping to fill them all. Good luck to all and be safe. -
Had same issue. Had nee extractor put in and switched from hornaday brass to nosler. Problem solved

Pm averagejoe. We are heading up next year.

What does the Fox say
Shedhunteraz replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Just when I thought society couldn't get any worse, now a bunch of idiots in costumes singing about what a fox says. Perfect time to have the don't do drugs talk because this is what happens. -
I agree with sundevil. Wow what a story and what and awesome hunt for your daughter. Congrats to all on that one. Enjoy that buck. Probably the most you will ever spend on backstrap.
-
What a great first buck. Big congratulations to you and your little hunter. Now he gets the joy of trying one up that one. Congrats again

Shedhunteraz replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
Hey jay make sure you find the biggest one on the planet. Dont want anyone hijacking your thread and saying you cant find any good rams. LOL. Dont know you, never met you. Have a buddy who is a guide and said your a nice stand up guy. Congrats on the nice rams. Put one of those bad boys down. -
Darren I believe this is the same bull from earlier in the year. You know know where this cam is

Hit list bull made it though early season
Shedhunteraz replied to Shedhunteraz's topic in Trail Cameras
No tree stand my luck I would fall asleep of boredom and fall out of the tree. Either ground blind or there is a little knob just above my other cam which is about 300 yds from this one and I have created a nice little highway for them to travel. Honestly I will check cams day before and pray about it and let the lord lead me. Seem to work for me everytime. -
Checked cams today and a bull wife and I have been watching made it. What a relief, should be able to fill that late archery tag. P.S. Hopefully karma helping find a hunters bull pays off for us with this bull

Unit 9 Arizona Elk Hunt Success Photos
Shedhunteraz replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
There are way better bulls in other units than in 23.... crappy unit... I personally hate hunting there... Couldn't agree with you more gino, well said. 23 is starting to resemble 4b for elk. Gino i'm still trying to locate the rest of your coues deer stands, what color truck do you drive? Dave SWWWWEEEEEEETTTTTT. I agree what a crappy crappy unit. I guess me and my sons will just have to take these tiny bulls out of the gene pool. Oh and cant forget about this one on 5-19. -
