    Bowtech Insanity CPX...

I got one about 3 months ago. Love the bow had a few issues with cam lean, but we have seemed to gotten that fixed. Easy draw, nice valley, and really good back wall. Crono it at 323 shooting 60lbs and carbon express maxima blue select arrows. Arrow weight at around 378 g. I had robert order me the 70lb limbs have yet to put them on till after the archery deer season. Trying to squeeze alittle more out of it. You should love it. Sweet bow. Nice choice.

    close encounter!

While hiking yesterday I came accross this sow and 2 cubs. She had come over the top of the ridge, as I was making my way up to it. I froze, then started making noise with sticks hoping she would leave. She just stared at me and kept walking slowly toward me. I always have my gun and pepper spray, so I got both out. I finally had to fire a warning shot, which did absolutely NOTHING ( but tree her cubs)! By now I start to panic, shaking etc. and surprsingly thought to take a picture because nobody would believe this. I called my husband, but the phone kept cutting out. I have read enough articles on this topic to have an idea of what to do.This is the 4th bear I have seen while hiking, but first momma with cubs. I slowly started backing up giving her enough space, to not make her feel cornered or threatened. She waited for her cubs and FINALLY ran off. This could have easily gone a very different way. Someone up there must love me longest 10 minutes of my life!!!! Picture is actual distance between us.

    Great Find!!

I was lucky I guess. Haven't found many deer sheds at all, let alone this! Just the head, I searched all over and never did find his bones.

    Opinion on New Archery Shop

Just wanted to get some feedback from fellow bowhunters. Wife and I, along with my brother in law are seriously thinking of opening up a new archery shop in central phx. What sets us apart is we would put in a 3D range indoors along with 5 to 6 other shooting lanes. So those of us that want to get ready for the hunting seasons without melting our heads off it will be fully air conditioned. Also add to the shop with a few diffrent bow lines, the accesories and clothing. Would have a full time bow service tech for any needs. Would like to do a summer and winter league for the range also. Let us know what you guys think, any information would be very helpfull. Thanks

    Opinion on New Archery Shop

We are thinking east valley since the addition of the new shop in the far north valley. And no its not our sole source of income for those who have spoke of it. We actually have a very sucessfull business, just looking to diversify and get a good product out there since there is very few out there. Thanks for the input guys.

IS THE BEAR STILL ON THE LOOSE?

Is there any word on them re-opening the campgrounds? I heard it was supposed to be the 16th, now it looks like it was further extended. Between the fire restrictions and bear restrictions there is not anywhere to go!! I live up here, and it sure is hard to enjoy my hikes when every trail is closed. I understand the need for this, however it has NOT stopped people at all from coming in here and camping, having fires, and target shooting.

Who said there was a Bear Problem?

We aren't using anything. That is just a small salt brick. The second bear was our "camera thief" we found it a week or so later. I personally have encountered 2 bears while hiking in the past 3 weeks. They spook very quickly, but it sure does make me aware.

    what do i do wrong?

There is some science involved, and a whole lot of walking. I just started doing this in feb., and have done OK. I wish I could say there is a certain terrain they like, or elevation level. All of my " honey spots" have been in completely different terrain and elevation as the last batch I found. I walk a lot and always highlight my map where I find 2 or more. I put 8 miles in today and all I found was a OLD Muley shed. If you really get technical you can pin point a good starting point at least. Its all been trial and error for me. Good luck
