  1. This will be my 4th elk tag in 5 years, with this year being my third bull tag. My last two bull tags were in unit 8 September archery and this year is unit 10 rifle and last year was a cow tag, I just been very fortunate. It's the luck of the draw! Now if I had that luck to draw a late December coues tag that would be awesome. It's like playing the lottery, or if you can find someone who has a lot of BP's and put in with them, and better your chances.

  2. I say let your son make his own decision. The recruiter is not being a tool. The recruiter Is doing his job, just like an infantryman or cook. Yes recruiters have quotas, two a month. If your son really wants to join, then he should join. If he really wants to finish college he'll find a some way or another. Even if he joins, while being in college before he graduates he can still apply for OCS and become commissioned before he finishes college. Also serving his country will be a better resume builder.

60 percent of our nations forces belong to the National Guard and Reserves. On a side note he can draw December Coues WT tags on FT. Hauchuca or draw a Rut any elk tag on Camp Navajo almost every other year.

I served my country in the Guard, and completed Two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, if you have any questions feel free to PM. I will be glad to help you out.

    Very Respectfully,

  5. I never drawn a December tag. I've put in every year since 2000. I've applied for bonus points when I was deployed, hopefully bettering my chances when I came home for the following year. I thinks its just luck of the draw. I heard of a guy who drew a sheep tag, and was unsuccessful the first time he hunted. He applied for sheep the following year and drew another sheep tag. So I thinks its just how the draw goes.
