Hillary Clinton claims poverty
43F replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
GTFOH! Bill made 200k a year and had a 50k Presidential expense account. Not to mention, they had free room and board for eight years. Oh by the way, Bill and Hillary are both well educated people who graduated law school in I think '73. That leaves them with almost 20 years working well paying jobs before Bill's election in '92. -
Of course he wants the rules to change, just like they changed the rules about the nasal strips his horse uses. They were not allowed until he said he would pull his horse out of the race. The guy is a complete butt.

Taliban leaders released from Gitmo

Dustin, I know and commented because I served in the military and have buddies who were in country looking for this idiot when he went for a walk. I've known this guy's story since the beginning, not just since he became news over the past couple of days. You talk about due process and the rule of law, but I find it ironic that the President (who shares your opinion) and presumably you, could care less about the rule of law when it comes to the President not notifying Congress about these detainees being transferred in the first place. -
Taliban leaders released from Gitmo

I served. My buddies still in at the time spent weeks looking for this guy. The story in country was that he walked off the base. Poor choice or desertion doesn't matter to me, they both equal a bad decision that led to Americans being subjected to greater danger while looking for him. Or those who may have been killed as a result of his bad decision. Either way, he should be held accountable for those choices by his chain of command. -

This guy is a deserter and piece of carp. The President sucks as well. While parading Bergdahl's parents on tv he spoke about leaving no man behind, yet we allow a former Marine to rot in a Mexican jail. -
Here is what I want to do: drive out of Scottsdale up 87 and through the Four Peaks area to Roosevelt Lake. Then coming back hit up Tortilla Flat. Has anyone don this? I'm not that familiar with the Four Peaks area, but think it is possible to do. Thanks in advance for any advice or information that follows. Frank P.S.- I do have maps of the area, just don't feel like digging through the hunting gear to find them this late at night.

That was an amazing weekend. Sorry I didn't get to meet up on Saturday. If you spotted a fat guy rocking a navy blue Hawaiian shirt that had rainbows on it that was me.
-
Will do. I'll shoot you a text Sat afternoon. We are going to try and head out tomorrow evening.

Last Chance Row W Site 9 I'll be sure to stop by Saturday. I basically have zero hunting buddies in this state and could stand to make a few.

So this is my first year going to Country Thunder and I don't want to show up unprepared. I was able to get a campsite as well as rent a popup that will be sleeping four of us at most. My question for the seasoned CT camper is do I need or should I rent a generator? The only thing I really see us needing power for is to recharge cellphones/iPods. Thanks, Frank

If anyone wants to stop by for a beer and shoot the s!!t I'm at Last Chance Row W Lot 9 which I think is right along the main drag.

Unfortunately I am bringing sand to the beach

For the money? The Alicepack made for the US military
-
Hey guys I want to get rid of some of my old Army fatigues. I have BDUs, DCUs, and ACUs in various sizes. I think the BDUs and DCUs are large regular and the ACUs are xlarge reg pants and large reg tops. I also have poly pro, a ton of t-shirts, and a few pairs of boots in 9 1//2 wide. I need to get rid of the stuff as I'm cramped for space at my new place. The only two things I'm looking to get money for are a pair of lightly used Oakley boots (tan) and an ACU Gortex top, anything else I'm willing to give away for almost nothing. I live in the Old Town Scottsdale area. Frank

Has anyone been up in Unit 21 this week? I want to get out, but would rather not if its a madhouse up there. I have a coupe of decent spots in 18b, but don't feel like making the drive.

I stayed at the Budget Inn on the Beeline a couple of years ago. Small rooms, but I feel like I remember the price being right. In the morning there were about a half dozen of us heading out to hunt.

I'm always broke so I use an Alice Pack. Not as fancy as the brand name ones, but never failed me when I was in the military or hunting.

Isn't horseshoe lake in unit 21?

Just checking to see if any members have campsites they are selling for Country Thunder. The last of the campsites went on sale today and CT USA made a mess of the process as usual. Needless to say I was one of those who was a victim of their process. Willing to pay over face value, but also want to be able to afford the rest of the weekends expenses.
-
Yea they are already. These campsites that went on sale today were the farthest away and some of the most expensive. IMO, the solution to the problems is this: 1. Campsites cannot be transferred 2. If one is not able to use the campsite, then they can contact CT USA and get a refund minus some type of administration fee. 3. Any tickets refunded will then be sold to the next person on the Wait List. a. People can add their names to the wait list at CT Florence the weekend of the concert. b. After CT Florence, people will be able to add their names via the CT USA website. 4. Limit the amount of campsites to two per purchase/concert-goer I think if they did this they would be able to get a handle of the secondary market.

My problem was that today they sold the last of the campsites, Canyon Campground. I was on the notification and received an e-mail Sat stating that they were going on sale and that they could only be purchased over the phone. So I wake up this morning, call at 8:00am, and ended up not getting through. No big deal, I understand that there were a lot of people trying to get those last few campsites. However, I then check my e-mail again and see that I received an e-mail at 7:30am from Country Thunder reminding everyone about the tickets going on sale, but this notification says that tickets are now available over the phone and online. So my strategy of calling was never going to be able to compete with those who knew they could get the campsites over the computer. Who changes the rules 30 minutes before the tickets go on sale. So then this afternoon I go to the Country Thunder Facebook page to do a little venting and see some people are advertising that they are selling Canyon Campground tickets. Adding that they didn't know that they were not going to be able to make the concert before they purchased the tickets. I mean come on, what changed in four hours. Furthermore, the couple people that I contacted did not say here is the price for the campsite, they replied by asking how much am i willing to pay. So basically we are going to be out 500 dollars before we even rent the camper.
