Colorado River Waterfowl Questions

I've been looking to do a trip over to the Colorado River for a weekend waterfowl hunt. I have dekes (goose and duck) and a 14 ft jon boat with a 9.9 hp motor. Any of you guys ever done a DIY hunt over there? I'm assuming my boat is too small for the river? Any suggestions on a starting point to scout?

Anyone hunted Cibola? How's that?
