Swarovski SLC HD or Vortex Razor HD?

Here is real world experience that I have had with VORTEX 56'S and Swarovski 56's. I have VORTEX, my son in law has Swarovski 56's. ( non HD ) There are times when I could see a difference, and times when I really almost had to fabricate a difference. But there were never times when I said BAM there it is a difference so noticeably large that I cussed myself for buying such junk. As you would be led to believe by some. :P

 

Here is another example of field experience. My Grandson and his dad had rifle cow elk tags. I did the glassing for them. The plan was they were going to be watching an alfalfa field well before light. The scopes on the guns were Leopold, not bubble wrap junk. I text them and tell them three cows appx. 350 yards out. Text back says can't see to dark. When it was light enough for them to see the full length of the field. The cows were in the cedar already. The elk came to a fence line and followed it coming back in their direction. I guided them to the fence told them to hide and wait, and they both killed their cow's. ( Irrelevant )

 

 

Relevant is the two different explanations you would hear regarding optic performance. If you were to talk to the ( fanboys ) of the green jewels. They would have ya believe the shooters need to go spend two thousand dollar more on rifle scopes. Where the common sense individual packing the VORTEX. Would simply ask how much earlier do ya want to see the animals??? Two hunters with average scopes couldn't see them. It was to dark. There for I'm guessing it probably was not legal shooting time. If VORTEX is good enough that you have to be careful about legal shooting time. I'm relatively sure ya won't take a back seat glassing any where. All the while ya have to remember what your eyes are comfortable with is what ultimately rules.

Thanks for all the replies I went with the Razors hD after a long discussion with the optic guy who owns both pairs. I must say I'm really impressed with the vortex. In the future I will definitely get a pair of Swaros but for now these are awesome and I'm not kicking myself for the decision. Thxs!!
