    Long Range Get Together

What ever you all want to do. I made up some steel targets, so if you guys have a weekend in mind let me know and I will go set them out. Not a rainy weekend though, the spot I am setting up at will be absolute soup.

    Long Range Get Together

Due to the weather that is coming at the end of the week, I am going to postpone this little get together. Only two on here sent a PM with an interest, but wouldn't want someone to show up. Most likely going to set up next weekend.

Congrats on a great hunt. It's amazing what a 25# or so bird can do to your blood pressure!

NEW Sig Sauer KILO 2400 ABS review

Jeff Brozovich does a review on the KILO on YouTube. Definitely worth watching, this guy has an unbelievable amount of knowledge and experience in all aspects of long range.

And it also does spin drift and Coriolis. We have used the BR-2 pretty much since it came out, but in my opinion the Kilo is a better product for less. The reviews I saw were by a couple of gentleman who's opinion is gold to me, and they seemed to be praising it. Got to give it to the Davidsons (I believe thats who invented the BR-2) for coming up with the idea originally.

I've seen a couple reviews on it, simply the best it seems like.

    Rock Busting

If you go to YouTube and search .338 Edge Rock Busting a video we took this morning will come up. Never filmed a shot before it came out kinda blurry when I put it on you tube. The rock we shot is hugging a bit to the left of the spotting scope but was pretty much center and has a green tint. It's somewhat tough to see, but I will figure out how to post clearer videos in the future, this is my first one. And when I said the windage was dialed right, I misspoke, it was obviously a left correction. I should of listened to dad as we were arguing, I put a little to much elevation in it lol. On my elevation solution I also added .5 moa for Coriolis. So it was shot for 33.25 moa elevation

    Rosy Waterdogs?

No big deal there are alot of great spots on that lake. The one I explained to you has been an awesome prespawn spot for me. I have had great numbers on that spot, and you will be able to fish it during the week, the kids should have a ball if the bites on!

    Ladder Test question

The .338 gets one patch and no brush about every 12 rounds. Does not get a scrub until it opens up, wich I would say is every 100 rounds or so, but I would have to ask my dad to be exact. The chamber is cleaned after each session with a soft brush and a dab of liter fluid. Bolt also gets a little attention. The other guns get cleaned after every session because they get neglected due to the Edge lol.

    Rosy Waterdogs?

If you come out of Burnt head down toward the Canyon dam. When the lake opens up significantly look to the shore line off to your right. It is the Northwestish shore. If you hit Turtle island you went to far. Off that shore you should see quite a few markers. There are several channels that run off shore out about 300yds or so. The depth you want to be in is where those channels go from 13ft or 14ft, to about 20ft or deeper. Star close and work out. Drop shot shot some Minos on 6# or so. I like 1/8 ounce but you may go to 1/4 if it's windy. That's been a great spot for me in March, good luck hope the kids get some! Apache has treated us way better than Roosevelt last 6 or so years. Since the Wallow fire.

    Ladder Test question

And even though you may go many rounds with no barrel cleaning, I would still clean your chamber at least every other outing.

    Long Range Get Together

And sorry for the change of location, but it's still pretty close to Phoenix and a flat drive. I don't usually set steel targets way out there because with a good spotting scope and a good rock face we can size targets on the face with the reticle and see exactly where our impact was with a bunch less work. And the place we have done validation on paper is not a place I am taking steel targets out to, way to rough. So finding a spot to set out 10 targets at the desired ranges we spoke of while being safe is challenging. In this spot now we will also be looking at targets from West to North, so perfect for an early shoot.

    Long Range Get Together

February 18th. We were going to do two days, but we are all just going to shoot Saturday. I want to do a $10 buy in only for those who are interested, you can just shoot for fun as well though. Bragging rights also come in ha. Farthest target will be around 1300yds.

    Long Range Get Together

I'm going to do 5 or so targets from 600yds to 800yds, and the rest are going to be over 950
