whats the best flashlight to carry in your pack

Which model did you get? Maybe you just got one of the lower end fenix models? They have a huge variety of models. The TKs that I got are AMAZING! My surefire was an older model and it just burned through batteries too fast and wasn't nearly as bright as these Fenix. -
Great pics! Congrats on the new gun Peg! Hey, I just noticed that in the closeup you can see TJ is wearing his CWT hat while taking the photo (he is reflected in the window)!

Love it!! We have lots of law enforcement officers both state and local that browse the site.

the Fenix flashlights are amazing!! i got two this summer for my nighttime owl work. they light up the forest! much better than my old surefire. I ordered mine online, but afterwards I saw that sportsmans had the fenix flashlights at the mesa store. I got the TK-15 and TK-22. You can get rechargeable batteries for them. They run on two CR123A batteries or one rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery. The rechargeable batteries are really lightweight and it's easy to carry a spare. You can read a ton of reviews of these flashlights on amazon. -
DB, It doesnt make great wine...we have had several wine makers make some from juice my husband gave them. But we havent really enjoyed the results. My husband did add some ppear juice to an India Pale Ale he made and it was a awesome!! its been my favorite beer this summer. neat color and wonderfully refreshing. Hypothetically you can make something stronger. Hypothetically you could juice the fruit from an indian fig prickly pear (much sweeter than regular ppear, but not as pretty a juice) and then turn that into a brandy and that might turn out amazing....hypothetically speaking of course

Cool press! I will have to show my husband that!

I don't either! I can't imagine trying to read this forum without View New Content. There are just way too many posts everyday to try and scroll through each subforum.

I think we had a thread that discussed this before and I was amazed how many people said it worked great!

Nice collection of pics!

Sure, I suppose we can thin them out. But it always surprises me anyone even notices. You don't have to scroll through the topic lists to view the forum. Use the "View New Content" text link in upper right of the forum. When you do that, it returns a listing of all the currently active threads throughout all the subforums. You don't have to scroll down the lists of threads in each subforum to see what's new. View New Content saves lots of time and makes it much easier to read only the new content. Also, when you use View New Content, you can select whatever time period you want it to cover....look in the menu on the left side of the screen after you hit View New Content. You will see options for returning active threads since your last visit, or in the last 24 hours, or last two weeks, or last year, etc. Very handy for seeing what is new in the forum.

My husband makes the best prickly pear barbeque sauce! We use it all the time on grilled chicken and pork and shredded wild hog meat. It's outstanding! We roll the prickly pear fruits around on the driveway with a rake to break off spines, then swirl them around in 5 gallon buck of water to wash them and then run them through a juicer to get the juice. Strain through cheesecloth to make sure it's free of any spines. My husband has been teaching prickly pear juicing classes for several years at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. See attached flier for more detailed instructions. I even added the nutritional info to the flier. Prickly Pear Juice.doc

I had an early archery bull elk tag a couple years ago in 27. One afternoon, my buddies and I were hiking into a meadow we had found on prior day. We thought it was a remote area that no one else knew about. We planned to sit the meadow and see what came in as there were wallows there. Anyway, as you all know, unit 27 burned hot in the wallow fire and there was a lot of fine black ash in the soil. Somehow I inhaled some of that as we were hiking up toward the meadow and it set me on a GIANT coughing fit. And no matter what I couldn't stop. I was a real wreck with my eyes watering, extreme coughing and wretching. Anyway after what seemed like forever, I was able to stop. Well, we continued hiking toward the meadow we intended to hunt for the evening. And as we got near it, we saw a hunter in a stand....he waived and we waived and we decided to move off to hunt another area. But man, I felt so bad because he had obviously gotten there early in the afternoon and been set up early so there wouldn't be any disturbance in the area and then I had my giant coughing fit probably not more than 150 yards from his stand. I felt terrible, but rather than hike through the meadow to apologize, we just left the area. Sorry to whoever that was!

Bear spray is a great option! I have seen it work on bears that were just a few feet from people. It's lightweight, easy to carry on your belt and non-lethal.

Have you tried both on? Go with whichever is most comfortable for you. They are both great boots.

Love seeing your pics Pixman!
