Using 2-way radios while hunting. Legal, ethical or what?
CouesWhitetail replied to Whitesheep's topic in The Campfire
That's the way I understand it, if you want to enter the animal in the book go back to hand signals. That's the way I understood it..... Doesn't the article give anymore information as to why they made that statement? -
Becoming a leftover hunter

Great advice Jim!! Oh, and Ylclaret, to like a post, simple click on the gray "like this" button at the end of the post. You have to logged in for this to work. -
I have used Thermarests for years....seem very durable to me. I have smaller ones for backpacking and larger ones for tent or car camping. One extra bonus of an inflatable pad is that you can use it to float down a river like I did! I even upgraded to a super luxurious one with a foam pad on it, but that thing is a beast and takes up a lot of room when packing. But it's super nice! It's called the DreamTime XL.

This was the first truck I saw in the parking lot at the OE4A banquet I believe it's Jerry Gollubier's truck. He and his wife were there at the banquet helping. Amanda

One of the most experienced buffalo guides in the state and a sponsor of this site is Lance Crowther of Timberland outfitters. Give him a call and see what he can do for you. I would hire him if I had a buffalo hunt! Not sure what he knows about buffalo out of state. http://www.tlohunting.com/

We got this one of Julie after scouting out a route into an area we needed to survey for owls. She is always finding bones of animals on every walk we take her on! Love this dog!

It was GREAT fun! Thanks to everyone for supporting such a worthy cause! As always, it was an emotional evening where we remember the reasons why were are there and remember the children that have passed on since they started in this program. And they had a great motivational speaker who was a military veteran who had both legs and an arm blown off when he stepped on a mine. Wow, what an amazing gentleman. Many thanks to Eddy and Chris and all the OE4A volunteers for keeping this group going strong!!

Gila Outdoor Annual Event July 26th and 27th
CouesWhitetail replied to GilaOutdoor's topic in Sponsor Spotlight
Sounds like a great event Jay! I hope several members take advantage of the free seminars and contests! -
I had never heard of them before going to REI. And out of all the boots they had, I was sure I wouldn't want that one based on the way it looked, but after I tried it on, it was a whole different ball game. I was very skeptical, but am super happy I decided to give the Quests a chance.

+1 on the Salomon Quest boots!! These are super comfortable and lightweight and great traction. I have worn Danner, Kenetreks, Merrels and they all wear out within a year (but I hike for a living as a biologist, so I wear out boots faster than most). I loved the old Danner pronghorns, but the new version I didn't like at all. They were too heavy and actually hurt my feet. The kenetreks are super solid construction with outstanding support, but as someone else mentioned, I felt like I was walking in heels, just too tall a heel for me. But this year after searching Bass Pro, Cabela's, Sportsmans, and more, I finally went to REI and tried what they had. They had a bunch of well reviewed boots, but the one that was instantly comfortable was the Salomon Quest. You might want to try that boot on. It's kind of ugly, but I love them! In fact I bought an extra pair today....because it seems when I fall in love with a boot, they stop making them! But they are on sale and so I got an extra pair.

Thanks for all the advice guys! It's been working fine all day since I fixed it. I haven't added the Loctite but it's still holding anyway. Since it's working fine now I didn't want to take it apart. If the pulley falls off again, I will Loctite it and I imagine that will solve the problem.
