No, I don't think there is. It is some kind of limitation to the software. Best bet is to think of a word with four or more letters like "bull" instead of elk since most elk stories will have the word bull in them also. That's harder to do for unit. But most of the time when a person writes about the unit they hunted in they will say "unit 24a" or "unit 36b" and so you can use those search words together instead of just the unit number. Use quotes to get it to include all parts of the phrase.

Under your name in the upper right corner is a little icon with a magnifine glass...click on it and enter the keywords you are searching for. You have to remember at least something that was in the old topic you are looking for. You can narrow the search by author or date or whatever using the advanced search. You get to the advanced search settings by clicking on the cog wheel looking icon just to the right of the regular search box.

Doug, I changed the file link so it would show up as a player in your post rather than a text link. Fyi, one of the features of this forum is to automatically recognize hosted video like that and put it in a player within your post. It does the same for YouTue videos. But you have to use the right link or it doesn't recognize it. When you are on Vimeo or YouTube looking at your video, click on the share button and then copy that URL and paste it into your post. That link will then show up as a video in a player in your post rather than just a text link. You won't see the player until you actually post it.

I have seen groups of cattle several times standing in and around a campfire ring....they all wanted to get in it and eat the ashes. It must be the nutrients in the ash. I haven't seen deer do it, but it's probably the same thing driving them to do it.

I have had it as summer sausage and it was tastey! I once cooked up a lion roast with a lot of garlic cloves in it and I didn't like it very much, but that probably had more to do with me than the meat.

I've not done my research as to which area I want to hunt in this year. I would like to balance two things. I'd like to get a tag in an area where there are lots of deer, but I also want to be realistic as to what area I put in for so that I actually have a chance of getting drawn. Hunt the 36 units down south....lots of deer and the tags are usually left over and available over the counter due to people being worried about the illegal immigration issue down there. But it's beautiful country and you can get a tag every year and see lots of deer.

You asked about a load for a .270.....I use 130 grain Hornady bullets with 55.5 grains of 4350 powder. I used to use regular spire point bullets, but for the last few years have been using the SST bullets. The SST are very impressive and deadly, but a little less accurate out of my gun than the original spire points I used to use.
