Tenderizing old squirrels?
CouesWhitetail replied to a topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Do them longer in the crockpot.....like all day, then all night, then check and see....I don't think I have ever had a squirrel not be tender after crockpotting overnight -

Thanks for the updates. Also, there is a free scanner you can use to check the site before you come here if you like. This is the security company that finally seems to have been able to clear the infection. If you go to sucuri.net, you will see a box for "scan your website for free" and you can type in coueswhitetail.com/forums to check and see if the forum is clean. You can also type in coueswhitetail.com to check the nonforum part of the site. Both show as clean and previously the forum showed several files that were redirecting people. sorry for the problems everyone. I do try and keep everything as secure as possible, but sometimes it seems impossbile to stop hackers. let's keep our fingers crossed!

It appears the site is clear of infection now.....please clear your browser cache to make sure you are not loading an older page. And we shall keep monitoring the site. I no longer get anything strange showing up. The site loads very fast for me now and no redirects seem to be happening. For those that have been experiencing issues, clear your cache and then after you visit the site, let me know how it goes. If you still don't want to take a chance, that's fine, you can just wait longer. It's certainly possible that we could get reinfected, but I have added several new security measures, and if we have truly removed everything, then hopefully we won't see a reinfection.

Very nice! Nice to see our grey ghosts up next to some NY whitetails!

For those that want to avoid the forum for awhile but still get your coues fix, you can always visit the main coueshitetail.com home page (no malware there) and you can check out several recently submitted bucks and also use the search tags to look at bucks from different units and with different scores. And then there is also CouesWhitetail.com on facebook.

I hired a security company to look into it. They say they have removed all malicious code, but then I have heard that from the two other tech support depts I worked with....I am no longer getting any redirects and the site is very speedy for me. It had been really slow and that malwarebytes was showing that it blocked redirects. But I am not yet completely sure all the problems are gone. We are still working on it. Just for your peice of mind, it appears that the malware doesn't download onto users computers, but it seems to just aim to redirect people from here some russian websites. Like I said before, you can always just take a break from he forum for few days. I will mass email the forum when it's cleared up.

oh and make sure you clear your internet browser cache so that you are loading current pages.... for info on how to clear your cache: http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahic.html

Site seems to be working much faster now and I am getting fewer notices of redirects.....looks like we are making progress slowly....We are also changing several things to avoid this problem in the future....please bear with us for awhile as they complete another scan of the site

My hosting company says they found the malicious code and removed it. However, it seems to me the site is still running extremely slow and I still occassionally get warnings about malware. I told them I don't think it's really clean yet, but they said all their dianostic tools say the site is clean..... they even sent me the image below to prove it....

Amanda, It will take a lot more than this to chase most of us away. Your 10 years of dedication to us buys a lot more loyalty than a stupid virus can ruin. Sorry you are having all these issue. Thanks for all you do! Thank you!! I am sorry for the troubles....we are doing everything we can. And eventually the malicious code will be found and removed.

fyi, the malware program that I posted the link for will block the malware on the site. It's a great free program to help keep you safe from malware. Tech support is still scanning the entire site trying to find the source of infection. Sorry, but it takes time to find it. They already did one scan and removed what they thought was all of it, but that wasn't entirely effective. You can always stop visiting this site for a few days until this gets resolved.

If anyone wants to scan their computers to look for malware, here is a free program that comes highly recommended http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

The hosting company says they removed the malicious code, but can't find how it was injected into the site. Make sure your antivirus programs are updated, this will likely come back until we figure the source. We actually found malicious code several weeks ago on the home page, but that was removed and a backup of the site was reloaded. however, the problem came back. I believe the weakness is in Word Press which is the software that run the main page.
