US kid creates new efficient cancer test using the internet!
CouesWhitetail posted a topic in The Campfire
I know it's hunting season and all, but I just thought this was really cool! A 15 year old US student used the internet to create a super cheap, efficient, early-detection cancer test for pancreatic cancer, lung cancer and more. This can save lives with such early detection and it's cheap enough to be used widely! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-19291258 -
Cool bird to see! I have yet to see one really well in AZ. I thought I flushed one once but wasn't ever sure. Glad you got a pic! Black-bellied whistling tree duck is what I know them as (they nest in hollow trees). http://www.ducks.org...-whistling-duck

Awesome!!! Congratulations!

I don't really know what is causing that. It's always been a small problem in the forum software for years. I have yet to figure out why sometime posts show up more than once. I usually just got through and delete the duplicates as I see them.

You can just use the search feature to find whatever you are looking for. It works best if you can remember a unique word or phrase you used in your post. Use quotes around a phrase when searching.

You are on a sticker-spotting roll Donnie! -
A friend took these pics at big safeway in Globe yesterday....whose Jeep? My husband also said he saw a sticker yesterday on a different vehicle up in the Pinals....not sure who that was.
-
Yes he was with some other people doing some birding. He didn't tell me what the vehicle looked like...just said he saw a sticker up there.

This is a pick-up head that a worker of mine found last year and I thought it would make a great Guess the Score contest. He isn't all that into deer, so he gave me the rack! Nice! You are guessing GROSS score (the total inches before any deductions). To enter the contest, just post what you think is the Gross score of this buck in this thread. Guesses must be posted by Aug 18 at 5 pm. Don't forget to notice the kicker on the right antler. I would also like to introduce Western Whitetail. Western Whitetail is a blog, online magazine and soon to be online TV show that is dedicated to giving hunters a ton of info about hunting whitetail in the Western US. Their magazine has many hunt stories as well as tips, techniques and product reviews. You can enter to win a great cooler by signing up to receive their newsletter. There is info on the cooler giveaway on page 4 of the latest issue of their magazine: http://issuu.com/wes...ndColor=#222222 Western Whitetail has graciously donated a Cuddeback Capture IR 5MP trail camera as first prize for this Guess the Score Contest. Thank you Western Whitetail! Western Whitetail was created by a member of the CW.com forum (Darren Choate) along with his business partner Troy Bix. You can see they have a true appreciation for Coues hunting by seeing all the Coues stories in their magazine. Check out their website: http://www.westernwhitetail.com/ Western Whitetail is also donating a hoodie and a hat with their logo on it as a prize. Don't forget to sign up for their newsletter so you can be entered in the cooler drawing which is scheduled for Aug 15, so sign up soon! The 5 people who guess closest to the actual score will win a prize. 1st place is the trail camera, 2 place is the Western Whitetail hoodie and hat, and 3rd-5th place will be CW.com tshirts.

I would like to introduce Copper Country Guide and Outfitters, owned by Steven Sullivan. This is a 2nd generation business, but Steven has been guiding hunters as part of this business for the last 5 years. Steven has two other guides that work with him and they take on average about 5 clients per year. They specialize in hunts in Arizona for all species (no Mexico or New Mexico hunts). When asked what makes your guiding business different from the others, Steven said, "As a small guide business we have two goals, one to make the client feel like family and two to give the client a hunt of a life time. By achieving this we do not over book our hunts or ever sub-out our clients." Steven guides archery as well as rifle hunters. And Steven is very familiar with BIG coues deer....check out this buck he shot awhile back. Copper Country Guide and Outfitters is based out of Globe, AZ. They have been running about 100% success on their clients' hunts and you can contact Steven to get a list of clients to call and talk with about their experience with him. I called several of them and I can tell you they gave glowing reviews of his service. They all stated that Steven was very professional, a real pleasure to hunt with, and they learned a lot from him while in the field hunting. I had the pleasure of going out to his ranch and scoring that giant Coues for Steven awhile back. And I can tell you that he and his wife are really great to spend time with and I can see how anyone using his guiding service would be very satisfied. Please visit their website to learn more about the business and see some more client photos. http://coppercountry...om/default.aspx

Guess the Score of this Nontypical buck

give me a little time to go through the answers and post the winners....thx! -
I know there is a bit of a problem with the Club skin for displaying PMs. You might try changing themes/skins and see if you are able to view PMs properly. Unfortunately, the authors of certain themes don't always have all the kinks worked out and so some themes may view PMs better than others. to try chaning the theme, look in the lower left of the main forum page for the text Change Theme, click on that and a dropdown menu will show with available themes. Try something other than the Club theme and see if it helps with your issue.
