Commission meeting 4-14
CouesWhitetail replied to ThomC's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Snapshot, there are a couple groups that come to mind that are Tucson based. Maybe other people can suggest more. AZ SCI is based out of Tucson. They do some neat projects. Bobby Boido is president and a member here and a sponsor through his personal business. Scottyboy is a board member also. And I plan to have a CW.com table at their upcoming banquet. http://www.azsci.com/ or perhaps the tucson chapter of the Rocky Mtn Elk Foundation. Several of our members here are involved with this group. They have been incredibly effective at raising money for wildlife. http://www.rmef.org/State/Arizona/Chapter/Arizona+State/ But as has been said, you don't need to join a group to help wildlife in Arizona. Just go to any of the groups websites or AGFD website and find a habitat project to help on. You don't have to be a member to help. You can also participate in the AGFD commission meetings remotely by watching online and submitting comments online. You don't necessarily have to attend the meeting in PHX. -

Just an fyi...carp are actually good eating! We smoked them on the grill in the past and they were quite tasty....do a google search for carp recipes and you will see that lots of people love them. They have a weird bone structure and they have a "mud vein" which you can remove, but we found them to be very good. here is a link to several recipes. http://www.bassonhook.com/fishforfood/carprecipes.html

Randy Phillips, owner of Archery Headquarters, asked me to share this announcement: Unfortunately we are losing one of our great sales staff members, Jarrid. He is moving to Washington to be with family and will be greatly missed! If you know of anyone who would like to join the Archery Headquarters staff, please send them our way. We are looking for a full time long term. Call 480-961-3100

Wow!! great finds and I bet you guys are the heroes now for finding that young man!!! Congratulations on helping out and finding him. I bet his family is so happy to have him back. fyi - I cleaned up your post to hopefully make it more readable. All the text type and no punctuation did make it hard to read, but it's a great story, so many thanks for sharing it!! Oh and love the sticker and antler pics!! Thanks!

Hello All! Ted Aday brought me this shed to score at the ISE show a couple weeks ago and I thought it might make a great Guess the score contest. What a great shed! And many thanks to Ted for sharing it with us! To enter the contest, please post the gross score of this shed before March 26 at 5pm. Where do all the CouesWhitetail.com stickers go?
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Sticker Sightings!
There are several 85730's on the map, near E Golf Links. I am guessing one of those is you. It didn't plot street addresses just general area of zipcode. I didn't think everyone would want their addresses listed so I went with the more general zip code. -
Where do all the CouesWhitetail.com stickers go?

I learned of a neat technique for displaying sheds the other day from taxidermist Dan Lee. He is creating very realistic fake rocks with lichens and pottery peices as a base for displaying sheds or racks. These are made to hang on a wall or sit on a table. He graciously made one for me as a sample and donated one to CouesWhitetail.com for me to give away in a contest of some sort. I think they look really neat! He is hoping to come up with a cost effective base that has a slot for putting in your own european skull into. that would be cool! Dan Lee has been supporting CouesWhitetail.com for years by donating gift certificates for his excellent taxidermy work. here are some pics of the shed art that he gave me. Sorry the pics aren't the best because my camera doesn't do well inside. I haven't yet put one up on the wall for a photo, but I think that's where I will put it eventually. i think a white background would show it off better.
