Hello All, I wanted to warn any holders of a first-season San Carlos Turkey Tag that the dates on your license may not be accurate. Mine was not. I spoke with the folks from San Carlos Rec and Wildlife recently and they said that if your first season permit doesn't say April 7 to April 15, 2012 that you need to mail in your tag or come by the office and have it changed. Also, the San Carlos website is back online...yeah! And it shows that the official first season turkey hunt has changed: http://www.scatrwd.com/ Save yourself a headache and check your permits now and get them fixed if necessary.

This past Sept during my archery elk hunt some friends found a bunch of bighorn sheep that burned up in the Wallow fire. I went to investigate the next day and found 9 bighorn rams all torched in one area. I believe they got trapped by the fire/smoke. It looks like a nuclear bomb had gone off in that area. Very, very sad. some pics:

Coach, I am like you...I think sometimes Ted is over the top, but at least it's a common sense approach.

Love the pose!! Nice work and great choice Heather!

We can do the usual where I pay for the table(s) up front and everyone pays me at the event or before. It's great that Kathi can mail directly to everyone for us.

Arizona Wildlife Federation Statement on HB2072

Does the AWF letter say they are withdrawing from AZSFWC? I didn't see that in the letter. -
My husband and I were out with our neighbor fishing from a boat on San Carlos Lake when we saw some bald eagles chasing an osprey around a bend in the lake. Later in the day we ended up in that cove fishing and saw a dead osprey floating in the water. I am sure it was killed by the eagles, which were likely the ones that nest near the lake.

Way to go Kolin and the other kids! and many thanks to AZSCI for hosting a hunt like this! I think it's a great way to excite kids about hunting! As a side note, AZSCI is hosting a Junior Jack Kamp down in southern AZ for kids to small game hunt. I heard the event is already filled and it's always a great time!

I use the simple black case that came with the binos. It's not really padded but it's enough protection for the lenses and such when in my pack. -
I would love to do a CouesWhitetail.com table or two if we have enough people. I can organize it if you like. Let's find out how many are planning to attend.

I would love to have a CouesWhitetail table....let's see how many we can get. I can organize it if you like. I will be going to the banquet. -
Yes, it's very sad. Thank you for sharing this. It was a pleasure knowing Javier's father and staying at his ranch. I heard that he had recently been awarded something like best rancher in Sonora. My heart goes out to Javier and his family as they deal with this loss. At least know his father is not suffering anymore.

Wow, nice buck and bummer that you didn't get it done, but you are right, sometimes there is a cost to videotaping and photographing before you shoot. Thanks for sharing the story.

Congratulations on the buck and a great gun!

If you are asking me if the governors meeting is confirmed, then yes, from what I hear it already happened this morning. -
140 2/8" AZ Coues Buck!
CouesWhitetail replied to Jay Scott's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
No, just three typical points per side and the rest are non-typical. It had 3 nontyp points on each side, totalling 15 5/8 of nontypical points.
