Giant Coues ****B&C Score updated*****
CouesWhitetail replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Can't wait to see it! Congratulations Jeremy!! -
Wow, these posts sure make me hungry for prime rib!!!! Great job everyone! oh and coach (in case you missed this end part of Chefs reply above), I had the same problem with trying to find pomace olive oil. A quick call to Chef and he informed me that Light or Extra Light Olive oil is essentially pomace olive oil. it's cheaper than extra virgin and lighter in color. I had to look hard to find it among the gazillions of brands of extra virgin olive oil, but I bet your grocery store has it.

Merry Christmas to you!

What does AZGFD do exactly?
CouesWhitetail replied to trphyhntr's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Thank you Brian, I appreciate your input! And I encourage anyone with questions about big game management to feel free to contact Brian (he is the Game Branch Chief for AGFD). And I also encourage you all to attend some of the commission meetings to see how things happen there. As Bill stated, individual commissioners can have a huge impact on how things are done within the dept. Individual hunters, as well as conservation groups like the AZ Deer Association and AZ Elk Society have had significant influence as well. Both groups have employed ex-AGFD employees to help make our cases before the commission and that has worked very well for issues related to the Kaibab and the recent changes in buck:doe ratios. http://www.azdeer.org/presidents_%20message_Hunt_Guidelines_2011.pdf -
I showed your post to Paul (aka willhunt4food) and he says we should have just driven over to your house for dinner!!
-
Looks like you did a great job TJ! That made me go out and have steak for dinner!
-
Wow, I am glad our little deer don't have to deal with that very often!
-
Yikes! that looks and sounds C-O-L-D!!! Congratulations on your success and thanks for sharing the adventure!

Way to go Mike!!

Paul and I enjoyed an amazing aerial view when we flew over the canyon on our way to Portland for thanksgiving. It was just breathtaking! I also saw it from the air when flying to Utah last year. Not quite as intimate as when you are in a small aircraft, but it was still very impressive! I snapped a cell phone pic out the window. Doesn't really do it justice.
