Rem 700 accidental discharge.....Yikes!
CouesWhitetail replied to Viper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Thanks so much for bringing this up...hopefully someone will be helped by this and perhaps it will save someone from getting hurt! -
I second what you guys are saying. I think we are now up to about 40 youth hunt stories posted in the last 2 weeks. KEEP IT COMING! I am lovin' it! I think it is so important to get those kids out there having fun hunting! A big thank you to those that take their kids out hunting and those that help support them!

+1! Thanks Shane for helping him out and Congratulations to the young hunter for getting his cow elk!! Dressing a cow on a steep slope is indeed a challenge! Are you familiar with the gutless method? either way it's a challenge with an elk on a really steep slope!

Awesome!! Congratulations!

Doug that last pic of Lockett Meadow is better than the one that is in my AZ Highways day planner that shows for next week! The pic they used has more yellow aspens but doesn't have the cool mtn reflection in the water like yours does.

Congratulations! I am looking forward to the buffalo hunt story and pics!

Rangefinder necessary?
CouesWhitetail replied to Thegrayghost's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I have one you can borrow if you want. I won one at the AZ Deer Association banquet and so I have my old one that I won't be taking hunting with me this weekend. email me your address and I can send it out to you if you want. It's an older bushnell, but it works fine. email me: amanda@coueswhitetail.com If I mail it today, you would probably have it tomorrow (wed). -

Welcome! and thank you for your service in the military! I can imagine that you are very eager to get out in the hills chasing Coues bucks after a 10 year hiatus! I hope you have a great hunt and we look forward to seeing pics and hearing the story!

Oh man, I am so sorry to hear this. What a horrible feeling it must be to have someone violate your house and steal your hard-earned property. My prayers go out to you and your family. Glad you are all safe and I really hope you get some of your stuff back and they catch these thieves!

Quality all purpose knife for field dressing?
CouesWhitetail replied to apache12's topic in Elk Hunting
Havalon knives are amazing! but you have to be careful!! http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/havalon_knives.htm They aren't exactly what I would call an all-purpose knife, since you can't twist or pry with them, but they are phenomenal at skinning and cutting up meat. They last pretty long, but if it gets dull, you just put a new one on....CAREFULLY!!! -
I never saw it, but I am assuming you got some PMs asking you to remove it? It does make some sense to be sensitive to how we show the animals on a website.

Great pics! I love this stuff!

Good reminder to think about the impression you leave with the public while at camp and when you leave. I always try to leave our camp cleaner than it was when we got there. I take a lot of trash home with me that isn't mine. And please make sure your campfires are out when you leave camp!! Even if it's not windy when you leave, it may be later and re-stoke those coals.

WOW!!! CONGRATULATIONS on a GREAT bull!! Loved this line "I needed a string to tie to his foot to keep him from floating away as he was on cloud 9." LOL! I can believe it! Don't forget to enter the bull in our bull elk contest.....for info on how to enter: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/Elk_Contest_2011/Elk_contest_2011.htm

Silver Pathfinder on I10 around 130pm on Sunday
CouesWhitetail replied to vegasjeep's topic in Sticker Sightings!
That combination of stickers actually looks pretty good! I wonder who this is? -
I just had to share some pics of the Halloween decorations at Peg and Tj's house! Wow, the decorations are unbelievable! I just took a few pics, but it doesn't really do the collection justice. Peg runs a daycare out of her house and I am sure the kids just eat this up! She says Christmas gets even more decorations!
