You might recall we just finished up a donation drive for Phoenix Children's Hospital and we will likely do more of those. An auction might be a good way to make those more fun. I am not sure if there are any laws governing online auctions...anyone know? I think TJ's point is that if you are making money off this site, why not donate a small portion back to the site to help support it? I know I sure appreciate it when people help out. Every year I give away thousands of dollars in donations, prizes, stickers and such to CouesWhitetail.com members and to other conservation groups/charities. I am happy to do all that because I think it makes the site more fun and gives us a bigger purpose by helping other groups/charities. I don't think TJ is saying everyone has to donate, but if you feel you want to, it sure helps. Anyone who donates can always designate where they want the money to go (ie, to the annual coues buck contest, or to the next charity drive, or to a fishing tournament, or coueswhitetail.com get together or to just general support of the site).

Scores from 1st Leg "6th annual Cactus Classic"
CouesWhitetail replied to Dick's topic in Conservation Group Events
Thank you Dick! -
I have put a cam out for turkeys and I focused on finding a patch of ground that greened up early in the spring. It was easy to find because I was in a rocky lower elevation area. But if you are in classic ponderosa pine habitat you might look for some natural trails into and out of open areas that should green up first in the spring....turkeys are naturally drawn to that type of area

Those skulls look great! Good tip on freezing the skull too, I never thought of that. I gave Cole my buck from Alabama to clean. As others have mentioned, he went out of his way to meet me so I could get the skull to him. And I had to change the date of delivery at the last minute too. He was very accomodating, thanks Cole!

I have a 1990, a 1992 and a 2000 jeep cherokee (the old style, not grand cherokees). One has over 300,000 miles on it, one is about to turn 200,000 and the third I think is approaching 200k. All of them have been worked very hard in the field for years and can take a serious beating. They take rough roads a lot better than a truck. All my truck owning friends can't believe how much faster you can ride comfortably in a jeep compared to a truck. Hope you find a perfect one for you.

I have hunted the 36s a few times as well as doing some of the clean up projects down there. I never felt unsafe or had any problems. I have camped alone and in large groups.

It was a great time! I got to speak with lots and lots of CouesWhitetail.com members which is always a treat. There were several members that I saw but didn't get to talk to because it was so busy at times, but I appreciate everyone taking the time to stop by and chat. Sold lots of shirts and gave away lots of stickers! Sorry to many of you who wanted shirts but I was out of the XLs and larger....I will be restocking in the next two weeks. Thanks for the support everyone!

129 and 131 Mexico bucks
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
Not legal to bring back sheds or picked-up heads, unless you have an importers permit, which probably only one or two people in AZ have. -
Congratulations! Love the pics!

Wildlife Conservation License Plate
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in The Campfire
Not sure how you got your cost estimate? The plate is $25 per year, same as the old style. Perhaps you were getting extra costs from personalizing the plate with your own phrase? Unless you personalize it, the plate is $25 a year and $17 of that goes to wildlife conservation. here is the text directly from the service arizona page where you buy the plate: Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Conservation – Available to everyone. $17 of the fee goes to funding wildlife habitat projects, outdoor recreational and educational opportunities. Initial Application Fee $25 / Annual Renewal Fee $25 -
Help support deer management in the state by buying tickets in the Great American Deer Raffle. The AZ Deer Association has worked hard to put together a great list of hunts that you can win. You can also win an excellent deer rifle. here is a link for more info about the raffle. This is the third year we have had this raffle and it's getting bigger and better all the time! http://www.azdeer.org/
