info on the 158" monster shot on the Oct hunt?
CouesWhitetail replied to AZLance's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I have the pics too of course, but let's not post them without the hunters permission. Somebody must know the guy....just ask him for permission to post.... -
I am happy to have available for sale the new Skull Hooker! This is a simple and elegant way to display your european skull mounts. I love skulls and will be using this for displaying some of mine. It comes in two sizes, so you can use it for smaller stuff like lion, bear, deer...or you can use it to display a bull elk or other large game. You don't have to drill into the skull at all, which means you can take the skull off and hand it to someone anytime you like. I like that feature! Check them out!! http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/skull_hooker.htm Skull Hooker was chosen to be the system that Boone and Crockett will use for displaying skulls at the 27th annual awards program!!

Havalon Knives - Check these out!
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Store
I sell the 22xt blades for the piranta as well. Like you said they are blunt tipped and designed that way so you don't poke a hole in anything. It also is a bit thicker blade so it resists breakage a little more. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/havalon_knives.htm -
I have always wondered how good these knives were. On the hunt where Scott Adams killed his giant buck, one of the guys with us had one of these knives and it was amazing how easy it was to skin and bone out the deer with this super sharp knife. The nice thing is you never have to worry about sharpening them. The blades keep their edge exceptionally well and when they do get dull you just put a fresh blade on it. Each knife comes with 12 blades so you can always have a super sharp knife to skin anything. Check them out! http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/havalon_knives.htm Amanda

How do you get the deer blood smell out of your backpack?
CouesWhitetail replied to scoutm's topic in The Campfire
try washing with scent remover soap, the kind you can shower in to remove human odor or use a product called Nature's Miracle...it's for removing pet odors and it works GREAT on removing skunk odor, so it should work for blood too. Can get it at pet stores. Or search online for it. -

I actually do think about this kind of stuff when I am on a mtn top! I am so very thankful I am physically able to do all the climbing that I do. It wasn't but a couple months ago I was in the hospital and couldn't hardly even sit up on my own, so being able to climb big mtns on my recent was a real privilege! Good Reminder! -
Very nice!! thanks for sharing.... You implied you were posting more than one pic, but I only see one?
-
I wasn't sure from your prior post if you are sitting water or not. Sounded like you are sitting a trail and hoping the deer walk by? If you have limited time and you are sitting water, then I would sit it mid-day, say 11 am -2 pm. If you are sitting a trail hoping to catch movement, then I would sit it in the morning since they seem to move more in the morning than evening.
