    Taxidermist

I don't know anything about that particular taxidermist, so I can't help you that way. But we have several great sponsor taxidermists here....please consider giving them your business as they support this site AND do great work. Clay Goldman in Payson: http://www.mogollontaxidermy.com/index.html Wild Heritage Taxidermy in Young (but you can drop your trophy off at Jeremy's shop in Payson): http://www.wildheritagetaxidermy.com/ Weller's Wildlife in Tucson: http://www.wellerswildlifestudio.com/

    Guess the Score Contest!

Jim Mullins gave me this buck to use for a Guess the Score contest at Jeremy's archery store grand opening in Payson awhile back. But most of you didn't get up there and get to guess, so for those that didn't, you can guess now. (if you already won a prize on this or already know the score...please don't guess) Guess the GROSS score and post your guess by Tues Aug 10, 5 pm. here are pics of the buck:

bobcat, bear, elk, deer and ?

here are some more of the bear.... I got it rolling around in the water for a bath, but you can't see it well because of the vegetation growing around the seep. but I also got a pic of the bear on another cam in a nearby spot which is probably the same bear.

    Building on a Mauser Action

With that much variance, I suspect you have a loose reticle inside your scope. It could be your mounts, but I doubt it. Try mounting another scope and see what happens. Bill Quimby +1 I had an old Bushnell scope do the same thing on my .270. Drove me crazy until I finally decided it was the scope and put a different one on. Shot fine after that.

Wow, check out this monster bull!

Wow, I love the character of this bull! Jarred Nichols shot him during his archery hunt. It was a tough hunt with few elk, but he made it happen. Jarred owns and operates Nichols Guiding Service, a Sponsor of CouesWhitetail.com. http://www.nicholsguidingservice.com/

bobcat, bear, elk, deer and ?

And that first pic is indeed a spotted skunk. Very cool critter. If you ever get the chance to watch one you will see they move very much unlike a skunk and more like a cat. Neat little critters. There are four species of skunks in AZ and I think the spotted is the most interesting! here is a link to the AGFD website for more info on skunks: http://www.azgfd.gov/h_f/game_skunks.shtml

  20. If you have some kids that you want to take out squirrel hunting you have a couple options this coming weekend Oct 1-3. The Arizona Deer Association, Mogollon Sportsmen Association and AGFD are teaming up to provide a unique camp where you can not only hunt squirrels, but you can learn many other outdoor skills. Activities that will be offered during the weekend workshop are; · Fishing in rim country lakes - learn how to fish for trout with experienced fishermen. · Wildlife/nature hikes - spend time in the field with biologists learning about the plants and animals of the area and looking for birds and other animals. · Setting up a safe camp – what food to bring, how to store it and how to keep unwanted wildlife visitors out or your area. Or try a hunt for squirrels – learn techniques for hunting squirrel and how to properly care for bagged animals in the field. For more information visit: http://www.azdeer.org/ There will also be a squirrel hunting camp hosted by Outdoor Experience 4 All up by Mormon Lake Oct 1-3. October 1-2-3 Squirrel Camp: OE4A will have a squirrel camp from October 1-3. We will camp out at Mormon Lake Lodge camp ground. We will also have Big Brother Big Sister joining us for this event.
