Hello, This is just a reminder that CouesWhitetail.com is again sponsoring a Coues Buck Contest for 2010-2011. We have some great prizes donated and we are adding more all the time. In order to be eligible for the contest you have to be a member of this forum before your hunt starts and you have to post your hunt pics and story and then send the link to Doug. You don't have to have killed to win a prize, you can enter a "best spirit of the hunt" photo or the best hunt story part of the contest even if you don't get a buck. here is a link to the contest info: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/Coues_Buck_C...est_2010-11.htm Also, we are having a Bull Elk contest and the rules are pretty much the same. You must be a member of this forum before your hunt starts and you have to post your pic and story and send the link to TAM to be entered. For more information on the contest, visit: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/Elk_Contest_...Elk_contest.htm Thank you to those who have donated prizes to the contest! And please remember to support those who support this website If anyone has anything they would like to donate to either contest, please let me know. amanda@coueswhitetail.com thank you and good luck this season!

Great bull and awesome video!! Wow, thanks for sharing that with us! Nice job cameraman!

What does your brother's wife want for her hunt? Is she going to be happy with the 380? Is she going to be upset if she holds out for a 400 and goes home empty handed? You could always shoot one of the broken ex-400 bulls and just have a taxidermist fix the broken tines.

I see they listed Steven Ward of Wards Outfitters as a prostaffer for ghost blind. Maybe we can find out what he thinks of them. He is elk hunting now, but I will send him a txt and ask about it.

Free cell phone charger for Casio G'zone
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Classified Ads
The chargers are just the standard chargers for the Casio Gzone. I will wait for Dave to get back to me on what he finds out about it fitting the Rock. and yes, you can see the battery level on the Covert 2 on the remote. Look for the battery indicator light near the top of the remote display when the cam is turned on. You can email me with any followup questions: amanda@coueswhitetail.com -
Free cell phone charger for Casio G'zone
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Classified Ads
I don't know if it fits the Rock or not. Maybe you could call Verizon or Casio and ask them? I would assume it would fit it, but I don't know for sure. The chargers I have were for my orange Casio Gzone. Let me know what you find out. -
Nice! Hunt details?

My husband and I went picking prickly pear fruits again yesterday and found this heart-shaped pear! What are the odds of this happening and what are the odds that I would find it? I thought it was very cool. So here is a heart to share with all of you!

Steven Ward of Ward's Outfitters (longtime sponsor of CouesWhitetail.com) asked me to post this video and see if you guys can guess a score. I would like to make a contest out of it but not sure how we can do it since the buck is still growing. But it's likely someone will kill this buck this year and so we will eventually know the real score. How about we have you make two guesses.... 1. What it scores right now (in the video) 2. What it will score when it gets killed.. this could be during archery season, or during the rifle seasons (hard horned). Of course it may never get killed either. But just guess what it will score when it gets killed. So this contest has an element of skill (guessing the score) and an element of luck (guessing if it will get killed in velvet or hard horned). Guesses need to be in by Sept 15, 5 pm. I will post the answer if the buck gets killed. If not, well then you are just out of luck. What do you think? Video 1

Daniel sent this in for me to post. He used the Rusty Ulmer broadhead on this deer. Rusty says his new broadhead won't be available for sale until Spring/Summer 2011. Looks like it's killing plenty of animals in the meantime though.... Craig Blackburn and I just recently returned from an archery hunt in Southern Utah. Both our bucks were shot using Rusty Ulmers new Ulmer BroadHead. The broadhead performed perfect. Both shots were a clean pass-through. Craigs shot his big 2 point at 35 yards and died in seconds. I shot my buck at 96 yards and still got a complete pass-through after hitting a rib on the entrance side. After a short death run my buck expired in just minutes as well. I can honestly say that the Ulmer Head is the first broadhead Ive shot that really does fly just like a field tip even out to 96 yards. My buck ended up with a green gross score of 193 3/8" PnY. Congratulations!! Those are some fine bucks -
DevilinCatCountry asked me to post this for him. here is the story from him: I went up this weekend to help "hunt4horns" on his bull elk hunt. We were running into a lot of bulls, nothing too big, the elk were bugling but the rut hasn't kicked in yet. Anyway we were sitting down for lunch on this hill side, and about 300 yrds out i see something bobbing and weaving out of the tree line. It was making a beeline right at us. I reached for my camera but it was at the bottom of my pack, so instead i grabbed my phone. Sorry for the quality but not the best phone.. This little fella was on a mission what it was i dont know!! It was an uneasy feeling having him run straight to you, all the time your wondering is mama!!! We stayed there about an hour after the cub passed us and still no sign of mama! Don't know how long this little guy has been running lost, or looking for mama. At that size i don't think he will last long.. and here is the link to the video:
