    NEW DLC Covert Camera! HR8.0

The owner of the company said to try the card and find out. He hasn't tried one of those yet, but said he knows the fast write speed cards do make for better photos and write times to the card. Let me know what you find out....

Amanda - Congrats on AZG&F Grant Award

We actually already do have predator callers come up and give presentations and teach predator hunting classes at BOW. But I will pass your contact info on to the director of BOW in case she needs more instructors.

Amanda - Congrats on AZG&F Grant Award

Thank you!! I am excited about the camp. For the past 10 years or so I have been teaching hunting classes at the Becoming an Outdoorswoman workshops in AZ a few times a year. Many of the women from that class have wanted to actually get out and experience a hunt and so I have been taking many of them out squirrel hunting or turkey hunting. And now I will be doing a more formal camp for javelina hunting. We are pairing up novice women hunters with experienced hunters so that they can go on a hunt and learn while having a great time. The grant pays for the food for everyone so that all the hunters and mentors have to do is concentrate on hunting. No need for them to get up extra early to cook or stay up late cleaning up. That is going to all be taken care of by two volunteer organizations...Youth Outdoors Unlimited and Outdoor Experience 4 All. If you guys know of any experienced women hunters who might want to be a mentor or if you know of a lady who is a novice and would like to attend....have them email me: amanda@coueswhitetail.com We may need some male mentors as well....so if you are interested, email me.
  8. Hey All, Well, I finally got out and checked some of my Covert 2 trail cameras that I had out there since March. I really thought the batteries might be dead when I got there, but to my pleasant surprise the batteries were full strength...even the one that I had only put four batteries in. They were lithiums and I have been wanting to find out how long they would last. It's been 4.5 months and they took about 1000 pics on each cam and battery strength still shows it to be full. Excellent! Anyway, here are some pics! Some of you might remember the sow that had a wounded shoulder last year and the small brown cub of hers. After she got her wound she didn't show up and the cub was there by itself. However, I think I may have pics of both the mom and her now yearling offspring. Of course they are not travelling together anymore, but here are the pics of her (notice a sort of colored section on her right front shoulder...perhaps the scar from her wound?). here she is last year with the wound: now this year, healed up? and here are some pics from this year of what I think was her cub last year. The green-up area seems to serve as a scent station. There was a bigger cinnamon bear that visited that same patch of green earlier. here is the big cinnamon bear (I had this one on cam last year too) Some elk like the green patch too: And a bobcat pic:

LOL! Hey, are you using the new HR camera or the Covert 2?

Something wrong with this cow elk

Are you anywhere near a major road? I wonder if she got hit by a car? Look at that tumor like bulge under her chest. Like it is full of fluids...perhaps blood from internal bleeding. I feel really bad for her. I will forward this to some AGFD folks and see what they think about it.

Finally checked the cams after 4 months!

That's good info. The video definitely drains the batteries faster. Still you got over 30 minutes of video..seems to me I used to get more than that on my Covert 2s, but I would have to go check.... How much of that was at night? Were you using lithiums? Lithiums might get you a lot more time on video. But I also suggest doing 10 second video clips. It not only saves battery power, but also keeps the files smaller so they are easier to download and review and your card doesn't fill up so fast. When I first started doing video I set it to a minute, but after reviewing them all I realized that the animals were pretty much gone long before the video was finished and so I had a bunch of wasted time in the video. And a one minute video is especially annoying if it's started by a branch blowing in the wind!!

Gorgonzola cheese and grilled onion venison burgers

well...if you hate blue cheese, go easy trying this one...it's still got some of the bite like a blue cheese...but I still like it.

Gorgonzola cheese and grilled onion venison burgers

Thanks for the tips Chef.....I am going to keep messing with it to see other ways that I like it. I am not a big fan of really strong cheeses, but like you said, Gorgonzola is different when melted and it's actually very nice. My husband LOVED it! It's real easy to make a cream sauce with it.

    Budapest...

I am familiar with stitching shots together to make a panorama but this is something altogether different. The resolution on this is phenomenal. You can zoom in on far away parks and see the kids on swings. That's cool! I wonder what type of camera was needed for this. Be a bummer to have the photo day be the day you decided to sunbath nude in your yard! there is a LOT of detail in that photo!
