Finally checked the cams after 4 months!
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Trail Cameras
Nope, it's not on the rez, but not too far from it. It's a place Clay shared with me. I love it! Great place to walk the dogs and see wildlife. Sunshine chased a big bull elk when we went in there to check the cams. That's a first for her. Apparently it was bedded in the some thick stuff up on the hill. We didn't know it but we heard her yipping and some loud crashing sounds. I assumed she got into a bear, but then we saw this big elk crashing through the thick shrubs and her right behind it. It was a bit comical to see that small dog chasing the elk. We were able to call her back so I don't think the elk suffered much from the encounter. But sunshine was very proud of herself. -
Thanks for taking the time to write up your hunt! Congratulations on your cat.

Coyote or Domestic dog. The snout looks a little snubby for coyote.

LOL!! Good one...

Hey Bill, Are you going to be up in Greer this weekend? I will be up at Sunrise for the 3d shoot. Perhaps if you have time we can get together and I can get my copy of your book signed.

Very nice!! And how fitting that you were wearing a CW.com hat and tshirt with the logo that he designed

NitroAZ gave AGFD the info on the location of the doe and AGFD went out to find her yesterday. They did find her, she was dead. Apparently she had a dead fawn inside her that rotted and the infection from that is likely what killed her. Thanks to Nitro for reporting this promptly and for the time and effort AGFD put into it. The poor doe...it was a sad thing to see....

Does anyone have a Jumping Jack Trailer For Rent
CouesWhitetail replied to elkster9's topic in Classified Ads
Heh...I was actually thinking of posting the same request recently....maybe someone here has a jumping jack trailer they don't use alot and they might let some others rent it...I wanted to try one out to see how much I would like it -
yes, I have heard of Tachi. He works sometimes with Javier Monge of Mexifari Outfitters (a sponsor here).

I would have if he showed any interest! I had a pile of them in the front seat next to me!
-
LOL!!! Good one.... That would have been some great publicity for the site!! Why didn't I think of that!!
-
Are you kidding me?? I had my CW.com sticker blazing across the back!! Must have been a different cop!! But in the same place. They had like three sheriffs along about a 10 mile stretch right by Jim's turnoff when I left on Sunday morning.....
-
LOL!! Matthew.....I totally forgot about that one!! That time I was actually trying to speed and get there on time. But the ones this weekend I wasn't really in a hurry and just didn't notice the speed limit dropped at those locations. They were pretty much open road with not much housing or businesses around so I just kept going with the flow....oh well....it's a good reminder to slow down and pay more attention to the signs. Stanley...they didn't even give me a chance to sweet talk them. I think they were in a hurry to go catch the next guy. On occassion I have been pulled over by state cops and they are almost always hunters and they will chat for awhile and seem more willing to give a warning. Guess these sheriffs weren't hunters.....

FYI - Borderland adventures just signed up as a sponsor I suggest you look at any number of our sponsors. We have some GREAT outfitters that support this site. You can go to the main page of http://www.coueswhitetail.com and look at the button ads on the righthand margin of the page to see a listing of sponsors. There are several there that would be able to help you out.

Cool! Thanks for the support CJ! It looks awesome! You must be enjoying the cool Flagstaff weather. You going to the shoot at sunrise this weekend?
-
I sent it to Jim Heffelfinger (he is in the Tucson office) and Brian Wakeling (PHX office). Feel free to contact whoever at Tucson AGFD. I am very sure they would like to know.

I just spoke with Randy...he changed me to 2 pm on Saturday. I edited my posts above to reflect that change. When he gets the schedule done he is supposed to email it to me, then I can post it.

Hey All, Last year's Outdoor Experience 4 All banquet was one of the most fun banquets I went to. We had more than a table full of CouesWhitetail.com people there and I would love to get 1 or 2 tables again this year! So please, let me know if you want to attend and sit at the CW.com table. Outdoor Experience 4 All is a great group that helps kids with disabilities and kids of our fallen heros to have an exciting outdoor adventure. This can be hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding or whatever. Visit their website for more info: http://www.oe4a.org This banquet features a pig roast and last year this meal was OUTSTANDING! McReynolds Farm provides the meal and you won't be disappointed. Some come on out and support a great organization and spend a great evening with your friends from CouesWhitetail.com! Post in this thread if you want to attend. Cost is $65 each for a ticket at a sponsoring table.
