I will ask Randy to get me the schedule for seminars to post. He just set it the other day. I think mine is Sun 10 am. Not sure if I will be shooting or not. I have never done one of these kinds of shoots. Do you guys shoot field points or broadheads at this event? I assume field points, but I never shoot field points as I always practice with broadheads.

Thanks for posting all the pics Chef!! You guys who didn't go sure missed out. Pictures just can't do it justice. Holding sheds with 6-7 inch circumferences is amazing! Thank you Jim and Susan for hosting the party. You always do a great job and it is wonderful to spend time with you both. And thanks to all who brought such tastey food! And CRB...sorry I missed seeing your GIANT sheds!! OMG! -
Where was this? You should let AGFD know. They might be able to find her, put her down and test her to find out what is wrong.

I spent the weekend volunteering at a Hunter Education Campout up by Forest Lakes (east of Payson off hwy 260). Hasties Hunter Education Group put this on and several groups assisted with it (AGFD, ADA, OE4A, etc). The goal of the camp is to take Hunter Ed one step further by getting kids out in the field to learn some real-world skills. They have already taken the regular hunter ed class, but this one gives them more info on muzzleloading, archery hunting, glassing, navigation, etc. Great instructors and a fun time. They get to practice shooting at 3-d targets out in the woods as if it was a real hunt. I think they had about 50 kids there. I wanted to say a special thanks to CouesWhitetail.com member Larry Hampton and his boys for coming up and doing an amazing meal of smoked turkey, pork, brisket, and chicken for the Sat night dinner. Wow, smelling that meat smoking all afternoon made us all hungry! YUM! Years ago Larry offered to do a smoked meal for one of our CouesWhitetail.com gatherings and I really need to take him up on that offer. some pics from the weekend:

Hey All, Jim and his wife have graciously agreed to host another CouesWhitetail.com get-together at their house on July 17th. Jim has the greatest Coues Deer antler collection that I know of. You won't believe how big some of these bucks are. We will have some great food and a wonderful time, so come on out. Directions will be posted as we get closer to the event. see some pics of last year's party: http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...13945&st=60 If you are planning to attend, please let us know and also plan to bring a side dish of some kind.

You can do all that without buying 7.5 min maps. You can print out whatever map you like from your software and make notes on it and/or put your notes into your map on the computer so they are saved there in case the one you wrote on gets trashed.

Prayers needs "Family lost a son"
CouesWhitetail replied to Santana Outdoors's topic in Prayer Requests
Perhaps you Payson guys that knew him would like to post a memorial tribute to him. Maybe gather up some pics and stories to share about him and start a thread in the Memorial section so that his family can see how much their son was loved. They might appreciate it. -
Awesome and it was GREAT meeting you and your sister and dad last night! Congratulations on your tags and good luck on your hunt.

It was nice to see you Gary and also nice that The Arizona Hunter had a table of folks there. OE4A appreciates the support! -
I love using National Geographics TOPO! program. You can buy all of AZ for like $100 and it gives you 5 scales of maps including the 1:24000 topo maps. You can map out waypoints and upload and download to your GPS. And you can print out maps centered anywhere so that you don't have to buy a bunch of topos. Then I use USFS maps to look at land ownership if I need to.

Yes indeed.

Barking frogs are a very unusual frog that most people never get to hear or see. They normally live in rock crevices and only come out and call for a brief time during the monsoons. I was doing some owl surveys down at Coronado National Memorial down south of Sierra Vista and the timing was just right that I got to hear this interesting frog and see some. here is a short video I made about the frogs...just some info about the frogs and you can hear the call. I guess they are named barking frogs because in TX and NM the call sounds like a series of dog barks, but here in AZ it sounds more like a croak of a raven....it was still very fun to hear! http://www.coueswhitetail.com/video_clips/barking_frog.wmv This is a great time of year to get out and enjoy the amazing variety of frogs, snakes, and toads that come out with the rains.... have you seen an interesting frog or toad lately? Post some pics if you got 'em.
