Ever wonder how AGFD conducts surveys for deer?
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Thank you Jim for taking the time to answer questions. For some reason, I am just seeing your responses now although you posted a month ago! I appreciate you providing all the extra information and I think both AGFD and hunters benefit from you coming here to explain why AGFD does what it does. -
Double Buck, are you going to be competing in the show too? It would be nice to meet you.

You all might remember that during the last application turn-in day Outdoor Experience 4 All and AGFD teamed up with the Red Cross to do a blood drive. There is great need for blood in AZ and some of the kids that are helped by Outdoor Experience 4 All have received many life-saving transfusions. So please, if you can donate, please do!! Please pre-register so they can make appointments and keep things moving well. see attached flyer for more information. Thank you! OE4A_June_Blood_Drive_poster.pdf

Sounds like a great idea to me. I was out of town for a couple days and didn't see your posts until now. There may be some legal issues with using it to raise money for the site (az gambling law issue maybe?), but I can check into that. Even if we can't use it to raise money for the site, I think it's a great idea for a fun get together and maybe we can use it to raise money for a nonprofit like Outdoor Experience 4 All or the AZ Deer Association. Thanks for the suggestion. Of course, one of the rules would have to be you can't win unless you have a CouesWhitetail.com sticker on your boat before you start fishing!! LOL!

I just realized that "www.coueswhitetail.com"

LOL!! good one. Use your dropdown menu in the address bar and it should be in there so you don't have to type it. Or add it to favorites, or just type coues in google and you can click on the link in the results, or just set it to be your homepage and save all the trouble . -
Hope you both have a great birthday!! SDHunter11, I saw your recent post about your mule deer and it reminded me that it's your bday! And AZMEATHUNTER, I like the pic in your profile! Hope you spend your day with family and friends.

Roger's Trough. Hiked in there with some friends a few years ago.

This isn't the first time this benefit has been reported! I have encountered that myself

I would like to do something to say thank you to our military. So if you are a CouesWhitetail.com member and you have served in the military (past or present) and you are interested in attending the Arizona Deer Association fundraising banquet on June 5 in Scottsdale, please let me know. I would like to give ten of you a complimentary ticket to Deer Daze seminar and the banquet. Call me or email me if you want to go and you meet the qualifications. 928-200-0544 amanda@coueswhitetail.com

Yes, it's big, but look at how much more room he had!! It could have been GIANT!!! LOL!! Maybe he needs a big Deer outline in the middle of the toyhauler like the ones that bookend the title banner at the top of this forum?

We caused a ruckus in Zimbabwe

Pretty amusing Gino! -
Well, as someone who dislikes hearing generators in the woods, I would recommend the quiet kind!

Great quote....good words to live by

The old treestand doesn't mean much in terms of if anyone is really planning on hunting it. I would say you should feel free to hunt it unless the day you go to hunt there is someone already there. First come, first serve. You could always leave a note saying you plan to hunt there and if someone else wants to work out a schedule they can call you.
-
Hope all three of you have a great day today! Quite the ages...ranging from 34 to 53!
-
Elkhunter...happy bday to you too! You must not have your bday entered in the forum software since it didn't show up as your bday today.

My husband and I found this hawk north of Globe back in February and it was roosting with a bird that was apparently its mate. I hoped we would find the nest this spring and that's exactly what happened last night. I wonder if any of its babies will be white? Like the white bighorn sheep I posted recently, this hawk isn't a true albino but a leucistic form that lacks pigment in some areas of its body. here are some digiscoped pics from Feb (didn't take any last night).
-
We have been seeing the bird at it's nest lately. Can't tell if it has young yet or not. here are some photos taken by a photographer friend (Jim Burns):

My neice texted me this photo today....who is it?

Sadie's father, Sadie, Derek T. and Lance and crew are all heading up right now to go hunt buffalo. Let's all wish Sadie good luck on her hunt! Those buffalo hunts can be tough, but I have faith in them all to work hard and get it done! Lance and his crew have killed several buffalo with their clients this year. He just sent me this one yesterday. It's their biggest to date! WOW! GOOD LUCK SADIE!! Hunt hard and have fun! -
yes!
