My father recently found a dog while scouting for deer....It is white, male about 1-2 years old that the vet told us is an "American pointer". The dog was found east of I-17 on the Dugas road. They are Flickers (a type of woodpecker). Fairly common. The white rump patch and the colored mustache are pretty diagnostic. They spend a lot of time on lawns foraging as well as in trees. They have beautiful underwing colors (yours are probably red-shafted, but there are other ones like the gilded and yellow-shafted (yellows are mostly out East though) ) for more info: http://www.flickr.com/groups/btaphotoclass/ Amanda

Sometimes when people insert photos into their posts they don't hit "return" after doing each pic and so they end up side by side and stretch out the post too wide. I (and likely the other moderators) try and fix this whenever we see it so that people don't have to deal with that. I don't think it's on your end, but the poster's. However, I didn't see that problem in the thread you mentioned. Perhaps someone fixed it before I saw it though. Amanda
