    Search Help

If you just search for the unit number, you will get this error msg: The error returned was: One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please go back and increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords. Unfortunately the search has to be for something with more than 4 characters. So if you do a search for "6A" then nothing will show. I don't know a way around that, except if you remember something else about a post, you can type in that phrase (like Riley turkey or backpack deer hunt). But if you are searching for posts that you haven't read before, you can't really come up with a good phrase. If I get a chance, I will check with tech support and see if I can change a setting to allow for searching that are using words less than 4 characters long. Some tips for using the search function. Advanced Usage Help Use Means apple banana Find posts that contain at least one of these words +apple +juice Find posts with both words +apple -juice Find posts with 'apple' but not 'juice' apple* Find posts with 'apple' and/or 'applesauce' "Some Words" Find posts with the phrase 'some words of wisdom', 'some words' but not 'some noise words'

    Turkey Taxidermy Question

I don't know how taxidermists like it skinned, but it sure seems to me you can skin it and just give the taxi the hide and keep the meat to eat. We skinned a few birds last week in NM. I was hoping a taxidermist would come on here and say the "proper" way to do it. here are 2 pics of a skinned out turkey (Kathy Greene was the shooter and it's her first turkey): Amanda

    Glassing up......

I have seen lots of lions (15+?), but I think I have only glassed up three of them. Two were taking a nap together. here are some digiscoped pics. Most of the lions were seen while driving on San Carlos. One was a group of four lions (I think a mother and 2 sets of young) that I watched for awhile but didn't have a camera and no tag. Some were seen from the air while doing aerial surveys. And the most recent sighting was the one I walked up on in a trap on San Carlos.

    Redington Pass Cleanup

I know several of you have helped with this in the past. This is coming up this SAT. Hope some of you can make it! See press release below for more details. Amanda CLEAN-UP PROJECT SET FOR REDINGTON PASS Multiple Partners to Participate TUCSON, AZ (February 26, 2009) – The Coronado National Forest, along with valued partners, will conduct a project to clean up litter along Redington Pass Road east of Tucson in the Rincon Mountains on Saturday April 11, from 7 am to 12 pm, at milepost 6.5, along the Redington Road. “We certainly appreciate the assistance of our partners and the public with these cleanup projects,” said Stan Helin, Santa Catalina District Ranger. “It exemplifies how much people care about their public lands, and are willing to pitch in and volunteer to make them more enjoyable for all.” Participating organizations include the Arizona Game and Fish Department, Tucson Rod and Gun Club, Tucson Off-Roaders, and the U.S. Air Force/Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Those wishing to volunteer should contact the Coronado National Forest’s Rachael Holt at (520) 749-7715 office, or (520) 260-8003 cell. Participants are advised to dress for outdoor activity, wear sturdy shoes, and bring sunscreen and drinking water.
