You can find more info at starrflight.com. Not sure if you have yet or not but you need to go to there site and watch the videos. There videos and web site should help you out. You do not glue them at all the knock holds them on. On a pass thru you just pick them up and push them back on the arrow. You can also go to Archery Talk and get a ton of info on them.

Rut over? Where does bucks go? and pigs in 22?
BowNut replied to jeffcros's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I have been hunting in 22 also. Not seeing many pigs were I had seen them while scouting. There was a lot of pressure opening weekend were I had spotted them a week before the season started. Even found were there was one if not more pigs were killed out of the herds I was watching. As far as deer go we have glassed a lot of bucks coues and mulies and most of them are still with doe's. -
Thanks for a great post Mike. From a Republican Union Member!

Jason Lewis Bronze Coues Shed

Almost forgot about those! Hope he has them soon. -
It is probably the new Hoggernot. They made it in the past but it would fog up a lot. They were trying to fix it so they quit making them for a while now. And yes they are high dollar. But if you were to buy a SureLoc sight bar with scope with lens it would run you about the same price.

I have a buddy who swears buy these heads because they group great out to 90+ yards. But I just read an article in Archery Business Magazine were they torture tested 16 mechanical heads. They shot them through two layers of fiber-reinforced Durock concrete sheetrock and that head only went 1" through the backside and all the blades broke off. One of the worst performers in that test. There are a lot more factors on a 95 yard shot on a bedded buck then the broadhead.

Well so far no pig! Went out on the 1st to were I had seen some pigs "Plan A" and there were 3 trucks parked in the area so we moved on. On the way to Plan B my truck was making a grinding noise when I was turning to the left. I had heard the same noise a couple times a few days before but it had quit and I could not see anything wrong. I decided I better head home and take a look at the truck. Well the right side wheel bearings were shot. $130 and a missed half a day hunt I got to bed around 11:00. I decided to stay home and get some sleep and go to breakfast with the family on the 2nd. That after noon we (my son and I) loaded up and headed out to another spot. We glassed up a good carp with about 10 ladies with him but it was getting to late and he was to far to get to by dark. We decided to give the area a try the next day. Still no pigs.Day three was great got on the mulie bucks doe's but no sign of the buck as they headed over the ridge. We got to the top of the ridge and I spotted a decent 70"ish whitetail buck with a doe but they had spotted us and bolted. We pulled out the tripods and started glassing. About 10 min. in I spot a mulie buck walking down a ridge toward the saddle we are sitting above so we move in for the stalk. No dice the buck gets ahead of us and pays no attention to grunts. So we head back to the optics. After about 15 min I look to my left to see what my boy is doing about 40 yards from me and he is eating like always! As I turn back to the glasses I see another mulie buck about 200 yards away across the drainage staring at my boy who is eating and not glassing! I get his attention and he spots the buck. I snap a few pics and the buck starts down the ridge to the same saddle the first buck came to so off we go on another stalk but we end up 0 for 2. So we pack up and move as we are walking a ridge I spot the group of doe's and the buck from the night before he is a big 4 pt but once again they spotted us and are moving away quick no chance for a stalk. O'ya still no pigs! We did get one more stalk on a good 90" whitetail with about 5 ladies and a couple spike bucks but the wind was bad and that was how the day ended. Lots of buck but no shots. And still no pigs. Today. We get a late start and head to were I had wanted to hunt opening day.No one is there so we hike in and start glassing and not much is going on. It starts to rain a little so we start to work our way closer to the truck in case it gets bad I didn't bring the rain gear. As we are headed back two guys are on the next ridge over coming our way. I told my son lets just sit and glass and see what were they are headed. They get about even with us and start pointing to our ridge. One of the guys starts calling on a pig call and about 60 yards to our left rock start rolling and pigs are running at us.WE GOT PIGS!! But they moved up the ridge to fast for a shot. I got on my J-13 call but they wanted nothing to do with that. We went to the top of the ridge but could not spot them again. My son goes back to school tomorrow so I will be back with some friends and brother in-law in the morning. Hopefully with a pig hitting the dirt! Here are a few pics from day three. The mulie looking at my son and walking down the ridge and some whitetail we saw bedded.

Wow! That sucks I hate thieves! I would call some archery shops in the area and let them know to look for it they may try to unload it there. I will be hunting with Robert at Broken Arrow tomorrow I will tell him to keep an eye or ear out for it.

Ethics get in the way of everything

5 yards or 50 yards if the shot does not feel right don't shoot. Good call! As for my Max distance it depends on more then just the distance. But the further away the better the scenario needs to be. Closer the better thats why I bow hunt. -

Is a guided hunt as satisfying as do-it yourself?
BowNut replied to lousyhunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Great post Jim! Not sure why people see that a hunter had a guide and they believe some how that it was easy and a guaranteed hunt. I helped a guy years ago on an elk hunt. It was a unit I was very familiar with and had hunted and scouted there for about 6 years. I only hunted as hard as it seemed he wanted and was able to! I do not consider my self a ball buster when I hunt but if need be I can and will. I got a lot of rest on that hunt compared to one of my own. Then on the way home in my truck with my gas he says I think next time I get an elk tag I will get a guide!!! The rest of the one sided conversation (because I quit talking) was how they would do all the work and all he had to do was tag along and shoot his elk. No,I do not hunt with him anymore! Lousy, Hunting here in AZ I do not think I would hire a guide just because I feel the scouting and getting out and finding animals is just part of my hunts that I enjoy so much. Out of state I would hire a guide if money permitted. And if I had a guide I would still feel the same as if it was a DIY hunt because I know I would do all I could to harvest what I was hunting for guide or no guide. Great question by the way. -
It was gone did you look under your truck! I found a rabbit I hit a few weeks after I hit him. Well part of him.

This is a great thread! I'm a meat cutter for Fry's. I have been cutting for about 13 yrs. and have worked at Fry's for 21 years as of this month. That's kinda scary when I think about it I'm only 37. Always looking for a second retirement with weekends off if anyone has an opening with the same pay and benefits!

It's about time! I think I know that wood pile I will have to check that spot out when I get YOUR tag next year! Maybe you can be my camera man. Great job guys liked it a lot.

Correct paper tuning and laser tuning are just a start. The Archery Talk post Redman posted is the best I have seen you should have no problem getting your Muzzys to shoot well buy following this post. Other things to look at: 1) Are your arrows the correct spline arrow for your bow weight and draw length? 2) You may have said it but what rest are you shooting? Even with a drop away rest use spray foot powder on the vanes and check for contact 3) Have you spun your arrows with the broadheads? If they are not aligned properly and wobble this will cause them not to group. Rubber Orings or the G5 tool will fix this problem most of the time. 4)Not saying you are doing it but a lot of people when shooting broadheads will Peek or Look to see where the arrow is going more often then when they are shooting field point. I know I have and do I it myself. This will cause low or lefts on right hand shooters. If you are shooting a Biscuit style rest and move at all before the arrow leaves the rest this will cause poor arrow flight. Also as Doug said try walk back tuning. I feel this is the best way to tune a bow. You can even take it one step futher and tune each arrow. If you do the walk back tuning and still have an arrow or two that will not group on the line with the rest turn the nock so the odd vane is in a anouther position. Sometimes this will bring it back into the group. Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

Nether or the two fights went how I thought they would but I was glad they didn't. Bader is a Beast! I can't wait to till the 27th to see Nogueira pound Mir. A lot of great fighters that night! Did any of you see the fight with Cory Hill and the leg break on the fight for the troops fights? They have it on youtube. That was ugly I hate to see stuff like that happen to anyone in any sport!
