Big or Bust

For me, it would depend on if you are hauling water or have a source..... If a true backpack hunt and not packing water I bring the big glass, 15's, stable tripod and bigger spotter. Extra weight of bigger glass will save you mikes. If weight really is a issue or water packing, its 12x on my neck and doubles on tripod, my small ultralight tripod, and the small Kowa 554 spotter....

Just take the dove out. Tastes the same and way less work. Grin....

And bugs, heat, humidity, they hardly moving due to feed, hard to see when up due to growth, etc... Only the serious guys are out. Also, only the biggest bucks are close to finishing....

Yes. I fell more than I ever have last year. Hiking steep stuff in the dark with vines wrapping around your legs not being able to see holes or giant rocks under the ground cover is always nice. It's gonna be the same this year and those who thought they were sitting water in the 36's in a few weeks will be having great fun. Gives me a bit of hope somewhere will be open in January down here....

Not sure how the IH/19 side of 36a/36b is though but if anything like the interior and west it's all good.

Yes, most of the land area of the 36's are already jungles, and that was before this week. Few dryer areas but very few...
