With a 38" barrel?

Don't get the recommendation for a fire breather intended for extra long range hunting and justifying it because of extended barrel life since the shooter only intends to shoots very, very little. A cartridge with long range capability doesn't make up for a lack of practice. If you're gonna shoot long ranges proficiently, especially in a hunting situation, you gotta burn primers. I just don't get the mindset. I'd build a SAUM at the top end and run 130's at 3200. They don't lose hardly anything to the 140's until waaay out there, low recoil, good barrel life, etc. Win, win, win...

Lots of good .224" hunting bullets. Cannot come close to telling how many hogs, deer, etc. I've taken with a. 223 or .22-250...

Ramshot Big Game and RL-17 will get you 2900+ in a 22" tube. Varget and H4350 will get you 2800-2850... Lots of powders including the above will shoot very well. All about your rifle 's likes as loads are usually not transferable unless you are lucky or gave a great rifle... WLR or CCI is what I prefer for a lighter...

Pad all the way. Lighter, easier to pack and the ground is a steady a glassing platform there is...

Good luck getting those to shoot consistently... I'd run a Scenar or VLD...

My backpack hunts I'll carry the 7-08 Tikka T3 Superlight in an Edge gunning the 140 VLD... My base camp hunts I'll carry the Long Rifles '700 .280 Ackley and 168 VLD...

I'll add trades towards a TC muzzleloader stainless, .50 cal...
