My backpack hunts I'll carry the 7-08 Tikka T3 Superlight in an Edge gunning the 140 VLD... My base camp hunts I'll carry the Long Rifles '700 .280 Ackley and 168 VLD...

I'll add trades towards a TC muzzleloader stainless, .50 cal...

I would build a rifle around the 6.5 140 Berger or the 7mm 162 AMax... Run these bullets at at 2900+ and their velocity thresholds gets you to 900 yards... Make the rifle all up at no more than 7 pounds... Anything on the SAUM case or the '06 case would easily get you there with a tube at 23"...

What a deal.... LASIK is life changing...
