I generaly shoot prone with my harris, but use rocks, a coat, a hat, or my pack under the butt. Some times I will use my fist too. I was curious about the butt pod. Anybody use one and like it? Is it adjustable enough to be usable?

Dont know if thats real, but I do know a guy that this happened too. He was cleaning up a coues and a cat snuck up behind him. He said he had a creepy feeling and looked behind him. The cat was sitting with in 10 yards, watching him. That is a crazy photo though.

Some of my spots took over a year. My best spots the bucks are gone nearing the rut. Those same spots have 3 or 5 to 1 buck to doe ratio.

Havalon Knives - Check these out!
youngbuck replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Store
They take a little getting used to. You can't pry with them. You also have to make sure there nothin on the knife when you put in a new blade, like skin or meat. They are extremely sharp. I've seen them take a fingernail off effortlessly. There is nothing better if you can not pry with them. I broke a few blades learning. -
how much lighter is it? Is it noticible? I had a few magnesium bait casters that didn't hold up very well. They kinda scared me away from magnesium for a while.

Just figure Id mention in case you were interested. Trapper education class tomorow at 9am at the Mesa AZGFD. If you were born after '65 you have to take the class for a trappers licence. Its $10. I'll be there.

Never been a fan of those guys since Aaron Davidson took over. How does it look? On vortex's site there was some for the razor scopes that loked a little bit taller. The ones for the viper looked shorter. What are the distances on the knobs? I was hopin for 300-1k in 100yd inc or 50 even, but not sure what they will do. I'll need a little less than 20MOA to go from 300-1000 from the calculators I used.

Im assuming you were talking about Doug@CamerlandNY's post http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...showtopic=21211 vipers 15x50 for less than 400. With $500 I would opt for razors in 12x50 (doug has them real cheap right now) I like the 12x razors. Ive never had a pair of 15x Vipers to look through. I might be missing out but I know the Razors are worth the non discounted price. With more guys glassin I like it when guys use different power glass. If everyone has 15s they all glass the same stuff (distance wise). A glassin buddy with 12s finds stuff close before a guy w/ 15s starts pickin it apart.

They still had room for me, they probably have some room left. Thanks again DB. Cant argue with free!

Swarovski Spotting Scope Reccomendations
youngbuck replied to RoughCut's topic in Optics and tripods
http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Sco...Ntt=scope+cover $40 instead of $200. They work good. I have one for an 80mm -
Harris s-25c. Its short enough to shoot prone, how I prefer. Its also tall enough to shoot sitting in some situations. If I dont have my harris I shoot off my pack and coat. The harris work realy well for long range stuff. They are bulky, but mine still fits in my gunslinger no problem.

Right now we are offering a 25$ giftcard with the purchace of any Yeti Cooler we have in stock. The gift card will apply towards any futute purchase, even a second Yeti. We are offereing these gift cards only to CW.com members for the coolers we currently have on hand. The offer will expire when we sell what we have in the store. Currently we have tundra models in; 45qt, one white and one tan, 75qt white, 85qt tan, 105qt tan, and a 120qt in white. I'm sure some of you have heard of the Yeti coolers. If you haven't, you will soon. Their slogan is "Wildly stronger! Keep Ice Longer!" They definately live up to their motto. They keep ice a lot longer than any other coolers I've used, and are pretty much indestructable. It is hard to decribe how well these are built and how well they work. You really have to see or use one to understand how much better they are. They make most other coolers look "disposable." Come in and say hi, and see how they look. If you stop in ask for Ryan or Olen. Feel free to pm or email me with any questions. Here are some pictures. From top to bottom; 25, 45, 85, 120 (the 25qt pictured on top is not currently in stock and the gift card offer does not apply to it)

308, you aren't helping my wallet any. I was curious to hear how the bergers worked on game in the field. I wonder if anybody is going to come out with other. 338 options. One day I hope to join the edge club.

Still jealous. I talked to Carlock about building one. I need to save a few more pennies. Nice rig for sure.

Spotted skunks are on my list this year to try and trap. I would like to have one mounted for me, maybe some extras for trade or friends.

I'm not much help with the mauser actions but have spent some time behind scopes. The Shepards do work well, but i'm not a huge fan. Everybody who I know who has had a Shepard switches to the Swaro BR if they want a drop reticle. Leupold has a nice drop reticle as well. I shoot a 1" tube Swaro TDS reticle. It works well for me. Longest kill was 729, lots over 400. I prefer the BR retice, but they want close to $300 to change it. THe 1" tubes were relativley cheap a while back (400 less than what I paid) For turret options, look at Kenton industries. THey make MOA and drop turrets. Vortex makes some now, as well as Leupold too For a budget scope, I just ordered a vortex target dot reticle in a 6.5-20x50 that I'm gonna have turrets put on for a buddies rig. (280scope + 100 turret) Zeiss also makes a reasonalbe priced turret option scope. Its just my opinion, but I believe reticle drops work well 3-700 yards. I think if you stretch out to 1k turrets are the way to go. My next rifle will be topped with a Nightforce w/ turrets. (I'm still dreamin though)

Im sure I'll end up at your shop one of these days. I didn't have any early archery elk hunts to help on this year or would have already. I gotta make it up and check out Chasin a Dream Outfitters too. I gotta pick up some stuff from CnS he left there for me, but every time I drive through I'm in a hurry.

You do need to sight in again. THe point of impact will vary from one manuafacturer to another, even in the same bullet weights. The factory rem corelokt always shot well for me in my 25-06
