    Still hope cc issues

Just wanted to fill some in and give a reason why people are being called due to "bad credit cards". I got a call the thursday following the CC change date. I had fraud on my card. I called chase and told them the charge was not me. They canceled my card that instant. I explained my situation and they said they would leave online charges open until April. I also called the Azgfd and explained to them. I am out of the country right now and can not receive phone calls. I left another contact for AZGFD in case I was drawn. On top of all this I put in 7 people for elk and 3 for antelope. I have yet to take any hits or calls. 3 of the elk were cow tags, every person was on their own application. I hope there is still hope. I find it hard to believe no hits from any of those. I have 18 lope points, 8 elk, and my dad has 16 elk points. We had a decent chance. Time will tell. Keep posting what you guys hear, as this is how I am able to get info outside of the country.

300gr SMK are gone. Really looking to trade for stuff I can use, especially stuff that is out of stock, instead of cash.

    WTT 338 and 308 bullets

PM sent, I had to clean out my message folder.
  16. I finally got a chance to test my new digi scope set up on a live animal. I can video, in HD, things up to a mile, probably, and have them clearly visable. Heat waves are tough on this set up though. I am using a Canon t3i with a t-mount to a Zeizz diascope adapter (1000mm equilevent) on a 85mm Zeiss spotter. There isn't any image stabilization, but I also didn't have to shell out 10's of thousands of dollars on a huge tele photo. The 1.6 crop camera has a digital zoom thats internal (3-10x). This function is unique to the T3i. It works really well with only minimal distortion at 10x zoom. Up to 7x zoom it isn't noticable. 1.6 crop x 1000 adapter x 10x zoom = a 16,000 equivalent. This doe was probably 500 yds away and my rig was at max zoom. I'll need a better head to make this work. You also need good light to make it work. My hope was to video shots at 1k yds+ and be able to see impact and the animal in good detail and clarity. The rig shakes real bad if you have to focus, zoom, or pan, but the video was surprisingly clear for being zoomed so much. Another thing is the focus. I have to manualy focus the spotter. I am looking at a 2.5" viewer trying to focus it. I'll eventually get a heavier head and get better at the focus deal. I may make a balance beam to have a better balance ont he head. It will move the mount on the spotter back to balance the weight of the camera. Any ways, enough blabbin, here is the test video. For comparison, the bear video on my youtube channel is at 300yds on 32x zoom on a panasonic camcorder.

    San Carlos Crappie Fishing 4/10/2012

How much work was it geting the boat in the water? The last time I was at the San Carlos G&F (early March), they said it was 0.03% full. I always prefered to fish for crappie at Carlos in the submerged trees close to shore than troll with the crowds. I'm wondering if there are any trees in the water yet

    reloading

Everything has been good advice so far. Some deals can be had on used gear, entire kits and single pieces. I would suggest buying plenty of manuals. They have a lot of good info, in addition to loads, on techniques. It is also very handy to have a few sources to cross reference. One load book isn't the end all, be all. Another thing to think about is a cronograph, if you don't alredy have one. If you are mainly doing bolt action rifle loads, a powder trickler is the hot ticket. For me, electronic scales are useless. I would start small. You will find things you like to use and others you don't. I like hand primers, some guys don't. You can do a lot of "e-reloading" reading on forums. It is free and yuu can learn a lot, especiallly from other peoples' mistakes.

    A couple pictures

I bought a new camera a while back from Niel @ Cameraland. As always service was top notch. I also recently got access to some photoshop software. Both are new to me and there is a lot to learn with both. Anyways here are a couple pics. A big thanks to RR for a lot help with camera stuff. This lightning pic was taken tonight. I've tried a couple different nights, and this was the best shot. I had a really good opportunity to take some more Sunday night. The storm skirting Prescott was insane. It was really late, and I didn't stop. I was chasing elk all day and beat down, wish I would have stopped. This was a pic I took while scouting for deer over the summer.

    Talley One-Piece Scope Mount: Feedback

I have used several sets. They are what I prefer to use If I don't go with a rail. They may not be any more sturdy than the old Leupold ring/base combo, but I'm not second guessing myself down the road when my groups open up. They eliminate one point of attachment, the point where most Leopolds loosen up, the ring to the base. Maybe it is just me, but I hate the windage screws on the Leupold bases.
