Can't believe I missed this thread. I buy flank steak marinated from Jacob's Carneceria in East Mesa. Let it sit in the marinade for a couple days in the ice chest. Some raw tortillas cook up as fast as carne asada, A little cheese and tapitio is all you need on em. Jacob's is far better tasting and cheaper than any carne asada marinade I ever tried to make or buy. Ive tried countless things, none of it is as good as jacobs. The worst part of it is that we can never tell what is better; his chicken or beef, so we have to get both. It also makes the best steak and eggs for the next few mornings. Another fave doesnt have a name. We just got what we had together to make a side dish to go with our ribeyes one night some years back. This was gone, and ribeyes were left. 1lb chub deer or elk ground 1 sweet onion 1 can bush's baked beans 3-5 potatoes 1 can cream corn (optional add 1 can whole kernal) 1 can pork n beans Brown meat while slicing and adding taters and onions. Add all canned stuff, including all the liquid. It makes kind of a sweet chilli from the bush's baked beans flavor. We make it in a dutch oven. Its real easy and really tasty. When I cook it at home I add some garlic and diced jalepenos and some green chilles. Its hard to mess up.

For the money i've liked cabelas alaskan guide, and nikon monarchs, lotsa good things said about doug at camerlandny's deal on vortex 6-20 viper. I know 2 guys who bought one. Only one looked through his he likes it. I may buy one even though i don't have anything to put it on. If you are gonna buy a new one, moe sure you wont be buyin another one in another year. That may take using our current rig unill you save up for what you want. When i was 19 i saved my pennies untill i could afford a swaro, glad i did. The last 5 years it has taken many animals.

I think i've seen that rig pre cw sticker

youngbuck replied to looking for help's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
If you like the euro option might try this. http://masterofskulls.com/ Not sure it would look right for a coues, but I want to try some of his stuff for elk and muleys. -

No physical check in required?
youngbuck replied to bstpeter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
One thing that gets me is that wardens hassle processors and taxis about having proof of legal take where the responsibility should fall on he hunter. I know it is a money thing for azgfd but he only talk of a warden was him visiting the processors. Every sytem has its flaws if mandatory check in are required costs would be passed on to the hunters. -
No physical check in required?
youngbuck replied to bstpeter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Still isn't madatory, except archey hunts, and thats not a physical check either. Some of us would like to see madatory reporting just to know management decisions are being made with more accurate data. THeres been quite a few posts about why, why not, ect. -
Not a Coues buck

I believe the ones in the photo are Greater Short-Horned lizards while the one in my old im not too sure about. He was in 36A a few years ago. Anybody know more about the genus Phrynosoma specific to AZ? -
I wish you luck Jeremy! I'm sure Ill find my way in there one of these days. I think its a great deal with Wild Heritage you have worked out. Hopefully both of you guys will be able to benefit from it.

Mike Hayes lives in the east valley, pretty handy for me, he neighbors of my parents. He is the one who started Casey's processing in Flag (casey's dad). If your in Flag, Casey's is good. I'd definately give Jeremy a go in Payson if its handy.

I used to be a puncher. I stopped aiming and focused on the squeeze. (same as kaffer) I shot like 15/20 yeards only for a while. Once I fixed my habit, I started aiming again, and "float my pin over the target. If i havent shot in a while my punching comes back. As soon as I notice it, I can easily fix it now.

Just a suggestion, but give Mcmillan a call (site sponsor) and see what they might have, It the past they have had "factory seconds".

55$ aint bad for hunting ammo. My ammo, if I'd buy it from the store, would cost around $70/20rds. Id pay that too, a long as it was lead. Lead works, and works well. I would be a pain in the arse for me, others and mostly ammo manufacures if klead was banned. There would need to be a lot of R&D if lead was banned. What are the guys gonna do who dont like hypermagnums? If lead is banned Im sure something else will kill condors too...
-
I cant see this happening anytime soon, but Ive been wrong before. I dont see how people are concerned with lead poisoning from hunting. How many ounces of lead are put into the field each year by rifle hunters? Now how about target shooting, range or clays or what ever besides hunting? Who knows what will happen. I cant imagine the Fed spending money for non lead ammo for practice and battle. Well actually they could easily just spend away some more of our money.
-
Kinda depends on what you are hunting and how far you need it to work. I like factory rem corelokts for close stuff. They are cheap and work well. Far stuff I like accubonds in the .30 cal. I like heavy bullets because they buck the wind. Some guys like lighter bullets. I like a bonded bullet for shooting super fast because it wont vaporize meat. Federal loads all type of bullets. The closer you are to your target the less important bullet choice is, I think, for big game anyways.

Hows your archery hunt going ?
youngbuck replied to Harleyfx69's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I feel for ya. I spent 4 days in a bling last weekend and had one doe come in, hopefully my luck will change. I only need the buck I'm after to come in once when i'm there, i hope. -
I've comepared them to leica geovids and vortex razors. They are dedinately in the same leauge opticaly as the nicer glass. People who have looked through them don't believe how much they cost. I always thought nikon monarchs and vortex razors were great for the money. The zens are by far the best bang for the buck, if they hold up. Ill definately abuse/use them. They seem to be built just fine, time will tell. If the geos weren't range finders they would be my primary small pair. I have an old pair of zeiss classics ill comepare them to when i get around to getting them fixed.
