First Bull of 2010 Down For Team Mullins
youngbuck replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Elk Hunting
Thanks for the links to get me by untill I see other pics. Congrats guys -
Ive run a couple, 6 and 12v. On my cams Ive used a SLA (sealed lead acid, rechargable, same ones that go in exit lights) battery connected to the camera and panel (either 6 or 12) I have normal batteries in my cam too. They last 6+ months. I wrap my sla battery in reflectix to help insulate if it is going to snow. Not sure if it help, but it cant hurt. I place my panel facing south around a 45 degree. I only use it in places that take a long time to hike into.

Well I closed on my house the last day of april. I got the bright idea to remodel the entire house. Im talkin everything drywall texture, cabinets, floors, paint, fixtures, countertops, toilets, hardware. I left a tub and the stubouts. Well my 2 month project quickly turned into three+. I havent had a chance to run my camers very much, well only once for two weeks. Im glad it was the right time, Im back in business for srchery season I cant wait to see him in about a month I think it is the buck in my avatar, It could be a 3x4 that rarely stops in but is prolly a bit biger

Anybody make pemmican?I always wanted to try some and never have made any, maybe I will for this year.

Ill be getting the one on the droid pretty soon, mostly for wind doping but also to see how far off elevation can change my reticle, I havent had a chance to shoot my rifle out of my "comfort elevation" there was a thread some where on it here it is http://androidforums.com/android-applicati...listic-app.html the guy who made the app is on there talking about it

you can try puting a string of words together using quotes. It will search for only that phrase exactly. The 3 character deal makes it tough to search for short words but theres probably a good reason for flood controll

Man i would have been relieved to see beatles too. Ive had a few swarms of beep pass by while glassing mid day and its scares me pretty good. I do my best to lay low.

Not to be the guy who suggests what he has "cuz its best" I would highly suggest talley rings/bases. They arent harldy any more and better as far as I'm concerned. They may save you some greif I had 2 sets of ring and 2 sets of bases the exact same for my swaro on my 700. I couldnt get enough elevation out of any combo. Swapped to talley one piece rings and bases. From dead center of my scope it was a total of 6 clicks to be dead on. I havent had to adjust the scope since I installed it the first time. The high leupold rings werent too high as far as clearance was concerned, It all depends on length of scope too, mine scope is a pretty long, a shorter scope will have a harder time clearing.

Dont know if they do general or motor mechanic work but Id call and ask Trail Transmission. They are in East Mesa/AJ. They do great work, are super honest and fast. Anything for tranny/clutch, I go there. They have been talked about well before here, by be, and other members.

Last few years; the later the better, for the early hunts

Decelerator pads work well. Sims pads work just as good and are cheap. I say adjust your trigger some, buy the scope you want, and buy a cheap pad. That way it will be an effective hunting rifle. Even now, if you buy the break, it wont hold zero with a busted scope.

I really like the kaibabs too for big glass, you just have to see what fits you well. After getting used to the geovids I hate not having a RF in my binos. I can definately say the 15x Geos aren't lackin in clarity or light gathering at all. Ive only had them and 15 Swaro side by side for a few minutes.

A good trigger will limit flinch. I would wait on a break if you had to wait on something. Just have someone else get it "close". I might be able to handle a box of 150s but probably not over 10 fast 180s. That being said a break went on my 300rum before anyhing else, even before the first shot. You could also borrow a buddies lead sled to sight it in. Im sure some one here would let you borrow one.

Ive looked too, havent seen a hard date. Does anybody know if any laws changed that applies to CCW permit holders?

Everybody's eyes are different, try as many as you can. I like swaro 15s and geovids in a 10x. I like my uncles 15geovids a lot too. I havent spent much time behind em though. My 10x geos arent very clear around the edges but are crystal in 90% of FOV. Id say the center of geos are more clear for me than the 15x swaros but thats not realy fair to compare 10x and 15x. A built in range finder is definately handy. I like it on my 10s because its always there. Some guys dont like the "all in one" style.

Scouting Camera Recommendations
youngbuck replied to MangeyJoe's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
The ones that the site sell are top notnh. I supplement my good cams with inenexpensive low MP cams. I like wildview; easy to use, hard to mess up. The pics ares as much fun too look at or show buddies but you can tell if hes a "no brainer" -
nothin for me, gonna have to do it the hard way w/ stick and string. I sure hope my boys are back in town, i just set my cams so we will see.

Aybody been pinched for this? PM me if you have just curious how it played out.
