    Thuraya Sat Sleeve

OK really annoying, I clicked for about 20 minutes and can't get pricing for airtime so basically it sucks. Why do these companies have to be so greedy, looks like tax code. 600.00 bucks up front and airtime and text and data charges , better off just getting a sat phone

    Recommend a Concealed Carry Class

My whole family went through FAST-AZ They are very good and they do every aspect so you leave only needing a cashiers check and stamps. We shot at Ben Avery and did the class at cabelas. Highly recommend anyone carrying to take a good all day course, I learned a lot on the laws in az and other states. Even some I though I was good on and I was completely wrong. My wife just sent her packet in, my son, dad, mom, sister all went through. If you think you can handle yourself and a firearm well take this course with simulated real world scenario and you learn real quick you are not as solid as you think.

Boquillas new rules / permit structure out

Wow, this is really bad. Jay Scott has already done podcasts on this and other outfitters are telling clients all about the fees scuing hunt decisions. Man I feel bad for these guys who hunt up there. What a mess. I think I'm going to just stop even looking at this until it is settled down. Hard not to say this looks like an outfitters influence on the leasee and some greed.

    any tile floor installers here?

OK how about almost zero prep on a good slab of concrete just setting the tile in a brick lay pattern and no grouting. Approx 800 sq ft I am thinking 18 in tile or saltillo?? Pm if needed. I used to do tile for a living as well. I may even have it layed out with chalk lines as well. I will have all materials staged and ready on site.

    New Guy Here

If you are starting from zero I would say go for a high draw odds late archery and hook up with one of us locals who don't draw to help you out. You will get a feel for az and some of the country. Latest jay Scott podcasts are all about az draw as well but not much about late archery. Welcome and good luck. If you don't mind I would like to talk offline about western Kansas deer hunt info sometime.

Boquillas new rules / permit structure out

We have every right to hunt state land so I say me and a few buddies will start throwing some wild coyote hunting parties on said locked up state land the ranch lays claim to and locks up. I'll call randy Newburg and we can go in via helicopter with lots if noise making items and hunt yotes for a couple weeks.

Boquillas new rules / permit structure out

Still is not right for private ranch to buy every other or less PC of land and leave the checker board in between owned by the state and yet lay claim to the state land. Big loop hole, just like the government operates. So I guess from the sob story the ranch is losing money and they need us to bring hot meals to keep them fed? Buy the land and have good ethics or use the loop holes and hide behind them. I'm not buying this sad story.

    National Monument Designation??

So who is keeping eye on this grand canyon watershed monument deal??? Our local representatives are speaking out against it which is good. This could really affect hunting north and south of the big ditch? Some 1.7 million acres along the Colorado river is what is up in the air and the president has the authority to pen this one in as many other presidents have done in the past in other areas of the country. (Quotes from news story) Arizona has the most national monuments in the U.S. with 18. “The real intentions of these shortsighted, self-interest groups are clear: They want this designation to prevent energy development, timber harvesting, grazing, mining and different types of recreation on this massive swath of land,” Gosar said in a statement last week on the proposed Grand Canyon watershed protection. Gosar and Rep. Trent Franks, R-Glendale, were two of 25 representatives who wrote Obama last week asking him not to designate the watershed a national monument. “Arizona is blessed with some of the most beautiful and unique landscapes on Earth,” the letter said. “For generations, Arizonans have enjoyed responsible, multiple-use recreation on these public lands, and have been active participants in conserving this amazing public resource.”

Boquillas new rules / permit structure out

Anyone know the FR number that would be locked to block this ranch off???? I just want to look at the area on maps and find a clever way to access the State land that would be blocked????

Boquillas new rules / permit structure out

I just looked at the parcel map of this area, what a mess. Checker boarded all to heck. I am not sure how we can have ownership of property like this? Doesn't make sense other than to block access and that's exactly what is being done deliberately and for the least amount of money possible. No private property should ever be able to block reasonable access to surrounding public land period. We should have a right of way I.e. public road no parking, stopping, etc and let the ranch lock the rest up.

    Funny Story

Just so you know "Edge" I wont have proper paragraghs. "Or Spelling" So what happens on Wed night when you are the last one or two awake after dinner and a few cocktails and sitting by the fire at the house. (outside by the way) Well in my case you either end up on the back of one very unhappy equine off in the desert singing old Chris Ladoux songs (NO not cadillac ranch,,, waaaaay older) OR you decide to sharpen your primitive fire starting skills. (for me this is a lack there of said fire starting skills) A few days ago after recovering from a long string of bad days, we had us a good one that got down to about 1 AM. With the fire headed south and me and the wife discussing a really funny youtube video on bushcrafting we had just become tooo familiar with, the night turned from romantic to,,,weeeell to me and my healer fighting off coyotes in the brush. (insert paragraph but not sure if this is where it goes) So there I was off in the desert with my trusty healer and my flint steel fire pouch. I set it all up carfully and began striking. Just so you understand, I suck at fire. Im more of an aviation fuel backed up by dryer lint, 2 bushells of steel wool, 2 torn apart 45/70 shells, 1/2 cord of wood dry aged in the Sahara desert, and a pressed log from home depot kind of fire starting dude, I strike this dang thing more times than Nolan Ryan punched oncoming batters from the batters box. Just as I am about to head back to the house to let the wife know she was wrong about my really bad idea for the nightcap I hear my healer let out a groan and a slight snort, Now when I hear this in the house I usually grab my pistol and see what he is looking at (squirel) "can you believe I cant spell squirel" But this time I was medicated so I tell him knock it off and take a few more passes at the rock and steel. 3 or 4 more trys maybe before the next groan and snort, Now I look over and see Jake is in full combat stance and glaring in one specific direction, Yep 2 coyotes sitting as pretty as pie maybe 20 yards off just trying to figure what this clinking sound is and if they can eat it. The next few moments were a blurr of curse words my computer cannot spell check. 10 minutes later I was walking back to the house with healer under one arm, a patch of healer fur in one hand, No flint or steel, picking cactus spines from my shin, and coyote furr from Jakes mouth. True story,,,,Use caution at my place when the firewood and laptop come out. LOL
