Back in behind the mine is nice and thick with some well used deer trails all over so a blind would work well in there, you can drive right through the mine, there are signs for the public to follow through, go back and find some hiking trails to go in 1/2 mile or so and get off trail to look for sign, should be alot of good blind locations. There are some nice camp areas back there near water as well and you could base camp then hit the blind early each day. Throw some salt out near blind location asap and you should be golden. I saw alot of whitetail back there on our Mule deer tag. Keep in mind the mine does shut down access occasionally for safety reasons but Ive never seen it myself.

No ranges I know of to shoot that far. You can join a shooting club and get on the 1000 yd range at Ben Avery but schedules are limited and the distance is not always what you want. We just find a spot out in the sticks. We have one that requires quads to get to it and its 1900 clear view but not giving it since only we go there and my buddies would kill me. Be careful out in the desert , very easy to be in a bad situation

If it was me I would see how it turns out, I would never just move on and let another human being cause me to change my life's path, I also would not have taken it so well originally, I consider something like that as a direct attack on my family. Not good.

Why is c.o.l different on factory ammo than the same co. Load data?
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to apache12's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Factory ammo is loaded for safety. Its set well back usually .100 back from specs to the lands. I ran into this issue last year, I loaded rounds off of book coal specs which has always been well behind lands but it bit me on one gun and the bullet touched the lands. I check every gun now to be sure.
