After 12 years of applying it finally happened, I drew my first Elk tag for Arizona unit 27. I am looking for some help in my planning. I am looking for two things,,,,I would love to find someone in the area where I could board 2 Mules and maybe drop a trailer and be able to come and go a few times during most of September. The second item would be a reliable Packer in the area I could hire for camp haul or Meat haul or both. I have yet to decided how I want this hunt to go, now that its my tag my dreams of packing in and hunting like Im back in time isn't as shiny as it was while reading stories of such adventures. I now know hunting takes a hit when your dealing with stock and trying to hunt yourself. This will most likely be the last time I do a hunt like this for myself and I really would like to give it every chance to be looked back on with no regrets. Basically I am planning on being solo for the hunt and open to the possibility that some help will be with me at some point, I cant plan it that way of course since its really tough to have everything line up for buddies to be able to make it. So if anyone has some intel on either of the help items above please let me know, I had 2 different options lined up from several years ago while learning and planning for this tag but those options are no longer available. Thanks in advance. 1) Packer 2) Horse boarding

Hunt was amazing, 16 days in the wall tent. Crazy rut went off the first week or so. Big bulls , bears, bobcats, tons of deer, turkeys. Had so many encounters I can’t even keep them straight. Pull my arrows out at least 20 times and full draw 4 times. In the end I shot a good bull in the shoulder and spent 3 or 4 days looking for him. Pretty much ended the hunt with a broken heart. Got the whole thing on film Don’t know what else to say, everything I could have asked for just missed the shot by a few inches. Never found the bull or arrow and am pretty sure he’s off running around somewhere. Tracked him off into some of the nastiest country I’ve ever been in. Stuff I would never even consider had we not been after him to get closure. Amazing weather and food. My wife stayed with me the entire trip. I forgot for like 3 days I even had a house or job. Mules got to graze on mountain grass every day. Learned a ton every day. Too bad it’s probably my last early tag. Time to beg to go on everyone else’s hunts. 12 years is a long wait.

why whould they build what should be a bed over cab design with a bed in the middle of the living area? odd layout to me. wasted all that over cab space. good motor for that size rig for sure. I like the 3 tv's part, haha wallmart 3 tv's equals 400 bucks but great sales point for 85,000 RV. price isnt over the top, these style are pricey. Neighbor has a mini wini same size they paid 70,000 with gas motor

How would you feel if 50 percent of your company didnt want you to work there? If I had a 50 percent no vote for me to be hired I would go elsewhere but some people have no integrity.

suzuki drz 400 is a great ready to go right off the floor dual sport, good range and plenty of power. Most brands have a comparable model like it also. I rode a drz 400 about 200 miles on dirt roads in a single sitting a few years back and was happy with it. My last bike was a 2015 kx 450f for motocross and that thing was a beast. definetly not for beginner riders

I’ve been using the peak stuff from Ross and it’s good but a little heavier than mnt house. still wish mnt house wouldn’t have ruined the pro packs, I’m solo a lot and don’t need 2.5 servings. Makes no sense unless they weren’t selling. But they were always sold out so really makes no sense.

Nice work Andrew. Way to get involved.

Reloading for longrange neck size or full size?
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to Crazymonkey's topic in Long Range Shooting
There are a lot of options and theory’s in this realm but mostly the name of the game is neck tension. On top of this decision I see a lot of guys using force gages on their seating set up to ensure neck tension. I was doing this by gaging neck finish diameter with pins down to .0001 size range. A reamer was then used to ensure fit. A force gage is much better and can help with SD on velocity. -

Both for me but mostly full length and anneal every other load. -
Just my opinion but I bought a red cliff and it sucks in the wind. I like the room but if it’s windy it catches it if it’s not oriented just right. Tipi is much better but not as much room.

Still managing a decent routine, ramped up hard on weight hauling. Carry 45 lbs up into the white tanks 4 or 5 days a week in the heat. Push ups and pull ups every day. Hitting the big hills next week for some bear and elk scouting which should see about 25 plus miles backpacking. Good luck all hitting the OTC hunts

2021-22 governor's bear tag
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to 218buck's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
The interpretation is profit, so if I spent a grand in the process of finding a really good bear then it’s a wash. I’ll be in bears next week also but I’ll have my bow so hard to say ide give up an opportunity, can you use rifle for that tag??? -
Not sure what number im on but over 10 for sure, we had a run of like 5 years in a row we ran across them on trail rides. Also have seen 6 or so desert tortise. Gila monster are super cool. Been 3 years now and havnt seen one.

Need kitchen cabinet/counters remodel suggestions/advice

Your kind of screwed on saving any money with these guys all being slammed. No way your going to find a deal unless its a freind. For me the best idea would be to order custom cabinets and DIY that part and hire out the granite..option 3 I wanted to add cabinets to our existing ones and had to get they guy that built my house to get me a quote, the cabinet maker wouldnt even talk to a non contractor. Thats what you get with custom I guess unless you order them yourself. We are also looking to do granite and for sure hiring that out but I am going to keep my old granite and put it out on patio for outdoor kitchen -

Whats In A Name
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to GameHauler's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Cool old thread, before my time on here. I don’t remember thinking up the name, I have and live Mules and started out backpack hunting so put the two together and Mulepackhunter. Most people think it’s due to the pack of Mules but it’s actually my two favorite types. Runnin Mules in and runnin backpacks in. Regardless you won’t see me near the road much. -
Ya man, not sure why but I love cheese and crackers. Charcuterie is my favorite but quick cheese and cracker is a craving with spicy brown mustard.

Backsplash install recommendations North Tucson/Marana

It is a lot of work for sure but it’s not really technical. The layout is the toughest part but you can measure and draw in the walls all you want. Next toughest part is grouting but again nothing too bad. I used to do tile for a living so I’m bias. A trick I used for layout and look is double stick tape to put tile up and see how it lays out and looks.
