Question about receiving money without being a guide
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to bonecollector777's topic in The Campfire
Hey 777, I looked into this for myself to do some packing and even though all I wanted to do was pack camps and meat its all the same, From Game and Fish you will need Forest license and guide license and insurance and you will have to keep a report log for game and fish to keep your license current. After researching I decided not to do it. 1500.00 min in fees and insurance per year just for legally packing and being paid for one forest area. -
Well it looks like last year we hit cards around the 17 or 18th of July so a few more weeks to go, I think last year I was so set on an archery trip I didnt think much on the draw. I didnt draw for me or my kids. Well this year I am really wanting someone in the family to get drawn, I am in for 22 and 24 myself then I put in Dad and Son for 8 and 24, my girls are in for Kaibab Doe hunt one last time, and then on the extended day I push Edge off the cliff and put him in for my hunts as well. I guess if you roll enough dice one might flip your way, I would be happy as heck with any of these tags or all of them what the heck, No elk tags for anyone I can hunt with so its all deer this year. Good luck everyone and dont fall for the Credit card hit tag this year!!!!!!!

I was thinking of stiffness, I know the shot peen barrels are stronger for sure. Looks cool too, I may have to try something like that. Hoping to do a 7wsm next year after hunting season

Very nice, the machining on the barrel is that for looks or is there some theory behind it?

Ya 20mm whatever, I have to put a cheeter bar on my 50 bmg loading press. The dies are 2 in in diameter and cost 10,000. for the carbide ones.

there are little pcs like that all over arizona where you have to cross private to get to forest land and its good when the private owners work with the public. lets hope it stays that way and more and more land gets bought up and placed in trust to the states so all can enjoy. heres to those who can have a small pc of heaven and are good stewards and also to those who have a million pcs of heaven may they both grow big deer and elk and let everyone able hunt and watch them for generations to come. or if they decide to put up gates and charge the may all those deer and elk jump their fences for public land.
-
Small rant here, I don't believe that one owner should control 1 million acres of land for any reason unless its public land held in trust. I believe this is just another part of the one percent putting thier thumb on everyone else. This thought was brought on by a recent article in the Wildlife Views Magazine availible from Game and Fish. Not a bad little mag and it looks like its going to be the set up for future plans in our state. For a moment think about the Big Bo deal from last season and then consider Babbitt Ranches over one million acres holdings including land locks. Well not wanting to be left out Babbitt ranches got in with Game and Fish and I predict they will be generating revenue very soon mark my words, Game and Fish is working on a new set up with land owners who allow access to their lands called the Landowner Compact. I suggest if you have any favorite places involving the Babbitt ranches anywhere find this article and read it and be ready for anything. I am usually a glass half full guy for sure but this looks really bad in context.

that all sounds great and good to improve on the land and i understand access can allow people to trash things but basically you have blocked access to the public, i cant head up there and go for a hike without being a tresspasser so its good for you and your group but not the public. i just like seeing wide open wild places availible to go into and hunt or camp or whatever. arizona is a great open land state for sure and there are plenty of open lands to go play on i agree, just figured if magaun ranch and babbit and a few others all get together with access plans with game and fish we will have a whole new fee to plan into even a one day scouting trip to grab a camera card or get some fresh air in the woods.

sweet, love the trap door.

i used to stuff my clothes in bag with pine branches from where i was hunting but after 4 hr hike in az even in winter that dont help so now its all about the wind

I guess I dont know about what you are talking about, was Federal/State land sold for Big Bo/Babbit ranches??? or was it privite land bought-up by someone??? I believe it was private land bought up but some of the land on the Big Bo was state trust and it becomes land locked now, Babbit has the same deal with State Trust and land locked state forest lands according to Game and Fish. I dont know how much but I am guessing they have roads that are not right of ways or easments the state can enforce. So if they chose to they could block and land lock access by roads. You can still get to most of the land with a big ride or hike I am guessing. You remember the guy who owned the road up to the skywalk or something at the Grand canyon, he owned the land the road was on and shut it down to all traffic then started charging people to pass, something like that.

ok i unpredict then its all yours. edge, sounds good lets maybe bbq my place unless your already plannin? or fish tacos, we were already plannin that anyway

We will have to wait until around the deer draw for any answers on this issue, I sent an email to the gentleman in charge of this and he is auto replying out of office with no contact until July 17th. Lucky dog.
