    Wild Horses???

I've been riding up there for a while now and man those horses tare some shoot up, I used to think cattle were bad but a full time herd of horses is way worse. They do make some great single track for riding. This is one area where Arizona really screws things up, like our legal issues we will be fighting against anti hunting groups the state doesn't have the cash or want to fight off legal assaults on any type of plan for control. I was going to post some info on the burro situation by me and it fits really well here, the herd up by lake pleasant is insane, I did 5 or 6 runs up there recently and no less than 3 times there was a smashed vehicle on the side of the road. One had injuries to the passengers. All had dead burros and one left a new born burro orphaned. Wish I had soros type money so I could force some commun sense on these groups. So frustrating when all commun sense is gone and Emotions of the minority's are used for decisions for the majority

    Elk osso buco

Here it is boys and girls, I've been dreaming of this dish since before we had an elk tag in the family. Seared the shanks on both sides then pulled to rest, sauté the veggies lightly then deglazed pot with good red wine. Add stewed tomatoes , oregano, moms homemade hatch chili powder, salt , pepper, garlic, nutmeg, and stock made from elk bones. Add shanks back in and Braised in oven at 235 for 3 hours.

    Prepping for osso buco

I'm going to have to suggest that you cook that tenderloin as one should be cooked in a traditional manor. More than likely that tenderloin will not taste very good osso buco style. (Too long of cook time)With that said you could do tenderloin osso buco but modify the recipe cook style, you could still get that thick rich sauce after searing your tenderloin in a hot pan then taking the meat out when cooked to medium rare and make the sauce without the meat. Just add the loin back in when the sauce is complete.

I bet seeing those numbers makes even more guys go nuts that this is even a possibility for the commission to listen to, how in the heck could a rough draft come to the commission and them even consider one minute of their time listening to this proposal? The statement of making this permanent is off the rails, please everyone send some emails with disapproval

    Monday Check in

How was your week? I'm working on building a home gym for a work out I love. Nothing fancy just basic lifts along with runs in between sets. Full body weights along with constant elevated heat rate. Had a good last few weeks, made some gains every day but one in 14 days. Alternating runs and weighted hikes with vertical gains. Tonight's run was hot but a Lake Pleasant swim after made it all worth it.

    T Lock vs Montec

I was lucky enough to get some good advise with my first arrow set up, I'm running at 485 grn on my finished arrows. 68 lbs at 30 in draw. Don't know the speed but I do know my arrows go deeper than anyone I've ever shot with. If the shoulder keeps going I should be ok at this lbs.

    T Lock vs Montec

Seems like it's always this story, hit perfect but no blood trail. Or it was a marginal hit and bled like crazy best broadheads ever. Elk are tuff and nails I'm guessing any broadhead can be good or bad depending on a lot of factors. So if I sharpen the Montec to perfection and sharpen the T loc to perfection they probably both stand about the same chance

    Conservation funding

Recently I've done some research on funding in different states, Missouri has a pretty good handle on funding supported by all groups. Missouri citizens voted in by a large majority a 1/8 of 1 cent sales tax addition which is dedicated to conservation , raising over 100 million per year since 1972. Although this isn't exactly money that could be used to fight off unwarranted attacks on hunting here in az it is a path that should be considered. I will try to get this information to the group wanting to use our tags for funding. This information came up in Steven rinellas podcast , if your not listening to some of these podcasts your missing out on some great stories and discussions

    Conservation funding

I believe the statement of nonhunters contributing more money to wildlife by far is completely false, I can't say nationally for sure since my above research shows some states have statewide taxes all going to wildlife. I'm pretty sure in az it's majority hunters. I guess this person never heard of pitman Roberts or dingle Johnson To date 7 billion from pitman Roberts alone

In addition I'm going to send some text to Steven Rinella and see if we can get some discussion from him on his podcast live here in az in June. If anything we can talk some before and after the show.
