About the same plan I have, except I am looking at Wyoming instead of Colorado. A ton of inexpensive over the counter tags for big game if you are a resident. The politics in Wyoming will never be an issue. There are less people in the entire state than there is in the City of Mesa. Putting myself on a 2 year plan to get there, that is when my stepson graduates high school. Good plan except for the weather, southern Colorado isn't much more than flagstaff weather wise. I have no desire to be snowed in or frozen out most of the year

101 degrees at the trailhead and zero other vehicles. Punched out 2.4 vertical with weight before a 4 mile jog/crawl from shade to shade. Ready for some rim to rim action this weekend.

Nice set up, congrats on the pay off. My strategy is a little more drastic, I plan to move to better hunting. We are looking hard in Colorado for land and then I plan to buy the az lifetime license so I can come back here most years. Only bad thing is I really don't like Colorado politics and the anti hunting trend is also not looking good lately. Still az is not doing much better.

All of the management plans are already thought out and ready, there's several issues, funding is one and the other is wild horse nut groups again using feelings and money to lock up any attempt to manage these animals as they should be by birth control, and removal and adoption. Now it's backfiring on them and the animals are suffering more each day, hit by cars and without water due to overpopulation, I read recently on the res there was a mass die off of over 100 horses. This works well for management but horse groups are stepping in and trying to save them, so they are wild but need to be petted and fed, it's a mess and yet another sign of this soft society wrecking what good people built before them.

Ya ya not the drink kind you lushes!!! Made an un expected acquisition of some wild bison and 1 turkey breast. Had to get creative to stretch the turkey so ground it with some domestic turkey breast and made it meatball style adding some bread crumbs, basil, egg, salt, pepper, mixed this together and made burgers in a pan on the grill. Paired with fresh corn in the husk and a nice girly white wine.

Going back to a small rifle might help, also letting down can help but that's not totally safe. Also you might try a release with no trigger for the let down method. Just draw , aim, settle and fake squeeze. Then let down. I treat my bow just like a rifle and let it surprise me. Same shot sequence as rifle every shot I mentally go through checks. Squeeze

I've been riding up there for a while now and man those horses tare some shoot up, I used to think cattle were bad but a full time herd of horses is way worse. They do make some great single track for riding. This is one area where Arizona really screws things up, like our legal issues we will be fighting against anti hunting groups the state doesn't have the cash or want to fight off legal assaults on any type of plan for control. I was going to post some info on the burro situation by me and it fits really well here, the herd up by lake pleasant is insane, I did 5 or 6 runs up there recently and no less than 3 times there was a smashed vehicle on the side of the road. One had injuries to the passengers. All had dead burros and one left a new born burro orphaned. Wish I had soros type money so I could force some commun sense on these groups. So frustrating when all commun sense is gone and Emotions of the minority's are used for decisions for the majority

Here it is boys and girls, I've been dreaming of this dish since before we had an elk tag in the family. Seared the shanks on both sides then pulled to rest, sauté the veggies lightly then deglazed pot with good red wine. Add stewed tomatoes , oregano, moms homemade hatch chili powder, salt , pepper, garlic, nutmeg, and stock made from elk bones. Add shanks back in and Braised in oven at 235 for 3 hours.

I'm going to have to suggest that you cook that tenderloin as one should be cooked in a traditional manor. More than likely that tenderloin will not taste very good osso buco style. (Too long of cook time)With that said you could do tenderloin osso buco but modify the recipe cook style, you could still get that thick rich sauce after searing your tenderloin in a hot pan then taking the meat out when cooked to medium rare and make the sauce without the meat. Just add the loin back in when the sauce is complete.
