Solar shower works well, also I do the bucket and floormat option a lot. Throw that solar shower on the hood of truck and it's hot as heck late in the day. Last week I just had 2 1 gallon jugs in the truck keeping warm, when I hit the trailhead I tossed the floormat down , hung the towel on the door and washed away.

It's called a lathe, lol A fixture on a lathe would do that quick and threads too. Nothing wrong with it though, specially if you do 1 a year. -
Love mulies in the desert very cool, congrats.

I just watched a YouTube vid on new nightforce tripod that looks to be exactly what I need. I have been toying with rigging a 3 rd truck pole for a quick detach plate and bungee it to my other 2 and make a tripod then I can bring poles like I always do and ditch the tripod while backpacking. Well nightforce just made a new pod that does just that only way nicer than my idea. Search nightforce tripod on YouTube and check it out. Sweet. Head is not the best but will work. Only bad deal is I think my tripod and 2 trekking poles may be lighter so need to weigh them.

Awsome man congrats, mules are a lot of work but make the hunt more of an adventure. I struck out on a New Mexico tag but I have a spot and will keep trying.

I'm on the stone glacier wagon. Only reason for me is weight. 1 lb is a lot in my book. I just came off the mountain and I was cursing every gram of weight all the way out. -

Dirt/Trail Bike for getting into remote areas
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to brademan76's topic in Other Hunting Gear
Any dual sport bike would be good, I have used my motocross bike a few times but it's just for scouting, I suggest like a dr400 Suzuki or kdx made by Kawasaki, you can find them used for a decent price. Street legal with lights is the way to go, you never know when you will need to ride out at night or go in at night. Definitely you want to carry everything on the pack and not on the bike, it's easy for items to get tossed strapped to the bike, on your back your body eats up the bumps and jostles, 4 stroke would be the best so you don't have to mess with mixed fuel and if for some reason you had to detour you could get gas anywhere. I have often though of hunting like this but plan on being solo , it's tuff to find others to tag along with the same set up. -
Buck of all lifetimes!!! Crazy nice find, super congrats

Aug. hunt, How are you pursuing the grey ghost?
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to Elkhunter1's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Headed out Sunday for my annual but kicking bow hike. Trying some new ground this year, like someone else said I hunt some but mostly I'm scouting for elk tag someday. 4 tags in my pocket keeps it interesting this time of year. A little bummed to be solo but I have 5 days. -
Always one guy that has to make the spike comment
