I have a 49.00 slumber bag 30 degree I use for August high country and it works great. December I step up to a Kelty 0 degree. Don't know about their tents.

Holy Cow man what a trip, Looks like a blast. -
Love the big races and the feel. Don't really care for the elite money side of things so it's kind of bitter sweet. I was around the track a lot back in the day from mucking stalls to betting races then I married into a race family. Nothing quite like a brisk morning next to the rail with the ponies shaking tha grand as they fly by. I took on and trained and re homed a few retired ponies myself and man are they fast.

Oh man that reminds me I'm practicing brisket next week. Can't wait.

Ya don't be discouraged, that's a good tag, I see bulls in that unit all year round, the weather is not bad late in the year, this year we got more snow than normal but it was never enough to keep you from hunting. Road access is an issue but hunters can't be in two places at ounce. Do some scouting and find some thick areas that have sign. There will be elk in there to hunt. There's no way to predict where the pressure might be.

FYI I would go with the best you can and forget about the price. Not something you want to go cheap on.

Looking for someone who could fix two wine fridges, both just stopped cooling. Trade for scouting on mules or meat hauling.

Well a few years back I picked up some historicle gear, several saddle paniers made by dales pack station for use on the Grand Canyon mule string. I managed to have a small wreck last year hauling elk meat and the bottom of one panier was blown out. I was told by a big time saddle repair shop that they could not possibly (insert tear here) fix my panier. One Amazon delivery later and I now have a working pair of historic paniers. Thanks to speedy stitch. Oh and Bens saddlery sucks.

It's not cheaper if I trade for pack work or scouting trips. Win win for me. I'm not going to buy or pay to fix.

TRUMP executive order....pay attention
MULEPACKHUNTER replied to ctracingraptor's topic in The Campfire
Big difference between nation parks and monuments. Concern on my part for sure, I know trump stated many times he wants federal lands to stay public and has no intention of seeing them sold off. I'm hoping this is just a monument deal and not a big land thing. -
Some is homemade and some is high dollar box wine I have been saving.

Don't worry the wine is in Heber keeping cool until coolers are fixed.

Feeling for you Doug, we were just tearing up over old photos of our lost girl at dinner tonight. Sorry for your loss.

I read an article from Yale university about winter backpacking and they had the insight to mention not to harass wildlife. Animals just get hammered at all times from people, lesson learned. -
